Start in Gukta newbie field--level 1 zombies for raw-hide armor and zombie skins and, oddly, one small brick of ore--flubbed making a skinning knife from it.
On a lark, I started up on E'ci a week ago. Until level 5, I collected tradeskill goodies and bought the components for the exterminator quests off of vendors (the return is a few silver, but at that level silver counts). . .
I dinged level 5, turned in those pieces, did two rounds of bard quests while mining the stuffing out of every vendor in original Norrath, turned silks into threads and swatches, and headed up to Bazaar with a spare character.
50pp from drops
150pp from vendor finds. . .plus
1500pp for a _spectral turn-in_ someone dropped on a vendor
100pp of that went into ten 10p armor/weapon purchases, 50pp into shared slot, and 50pp for today's stock. . .and there's still a day left in the week.
[Edit: If you really want to preserve the newbie experience, don't use the PoK stones for awhile. Crossing South Ro with its unsafe zone edges was a hair-raising experience, and froggies don't even _have_ hair. . .]
