There is definately a new(?) lag when trying to open a "container" that does not belong to you. Combiners like brew barrels, mob corpses, NPC merchants, traders in bazaar, all has a lag now. No matter where I go what zone I'm in crowded or not, there is a noticeable delay. Inventory and bank is still just as fast as before though.

New anti-macroing combine delay?

Don't know if this is related, but last time I did some brewing (little less than a week ago), I noticed I had to click on the barrel twice to get it to open. However, that was a night that I was having connection problems, so had chalked it up to that.Sir Carmaris Stoneheart

This coincides with the bug I am having where I will kill a mob, and then I cant loot it, and none of my spell buttons works.
The bug disappears after 5 minutes because a) someone else loots the corpse b) the corpse rots c) the system thinks it has booted you off the corpse (like when you're trying to lock a corpse for a friend to come loot a no drop item, after a few minutes it boots you off to corpse and you have to click it again to loot).
As for the delay on combines, I haven't noticed any change and have been doing all my regular combines. The only change I have noticed is the one they implemented on selling items back to vendors. You will see if you try to sell two consecutive items very quickly the vendor will actually tell you "I do not wish to purchase this item at this time" (this is how one knows it's a real change that Sony implemented). Wait a fraction of a second more and he will buy it. Presumably this was put in to stop macroers spam selling back to vendors as fact as their hack programs could send the command "sell" (different to a mouse click). Now they have to wait a bit (1 second?) between sell commands. Not really sure how much difference that will make to any of them in the long run but I do find it frustrating when I'm trying to sell non-stackable items back to a vendor (by hand, of course) and I happen to click too fast.

Just whipped up 200 vials of prismatic dye the other night and didn't notice any delay. I line up my bags with the bottom of the tradeskill container for minimum mousing distance from components to container to combine button to empty bag slot, and after 600 combines I'm going full blast...no noticable enforced delay. But, since people report it coming and going for individuals, I'm wondering if it isn't just some weird bug.

For those of you who do NOT seem to have the problem, could you give an estimate as to how fast you usually do a stack of 2-component combines? If your combine time for the stack is over 45 seconds, you're not likely to notice the delay.
Also, I have now tried this (a) on a different computer, (b) on a different account, and (c) in different zones, and I get the delay in all of them. Ceremonial Solstice Robes and Mistletoe Cutting Sickles take forever now.

I especially noticed this. Lately I've been collecting Velium for skilling up smithing, so I've been combining blocks to bricks to pieces. and I have to wait on almost all of them. And buying items, I've had a merchant say I'm not interested in buying that item at this time, and before I could buy as fast as I could click, now it seems at a steady slower rate.

I had this happen at least a dozen times today, while camping various cleric epic mobs (about 5 times while camping in sola, then a lot more while i was killing gobbies in LR. got both pieces, btw, now I just gotta raid..).
i THINK i figured out what it is, or it's just a super odd coincidence. Anyone else have summoned items on them? like.. equipped?
I was using a Halo of Light(clr summoned, head, light source of course), more out of supersticion(sp?) than anything, in the hopes that lord gim would spawn. It wasnt until after I did this that I started getting the bug..
And later on, I had summoned it again cause dangit, it's just DARK down there in the tower where lord B spawns. Even dark to a DE. Anyway.. It started happening again, AFTER i had it equipped. My friend Bonechewer had same thing happen to him, and he said he had waterstones (Dont think you can 'equip' those, but knowing him, they were in his main inventory, so.. /shrug).
For me, the 'bug' is.. basically clicking ANYTHIGN in the main screen doesnt work. I play with /viewport and everything but my spell bar in the black part.. and anywhere I clicked that WASNT blacked out from /viewport it wouldnt accept. Happened about every 5-10 minutes.. had to camp out then back in.

Its definitely not lag and its been there consistenty every day, every zone over 1000s of combines. It also has nothing to do with when you put the last component into the container -- I do that so fast I cant even distinguish between the click that drops the last item and the click that hits the combine button.
What it does have to do with is the time between consecutive hits of the combine button, under about 2 seconds and it just ignores the button click. If you delay any part of the cycle then the combine will work fine. What's worked the best for me is after hitting combine just waiting until the product appears on the cursor before moving the mouse over and dropping on auto-equip (prior to the patch as soon as I hit combine the mouse was on the move and the product would appear on the cursor just in time to be dropped). Most of the time waiting on the product is just enough delay (but not always) and the visual cue helps with regulating my speed.
I'm sure Sony can just tweak whatever timer they put in and shorten it a bit. For my part, my best guess is that if they took 1/2 to 3/4 second off the timer I'd never notice it. That would still slow the bots down by quite a bit.

It's not lag.
And there is a new delay before you're allowed to hit the combine button.
Something as simple as combining spider silk for swatches. And for something like making Nightmarewood Compound Bows.
Everything moves just as fast between containers like it should. But, after the first combine, there is an enforced delay before hitting the combine button again will do anything.
I've tried hitting the combine up to three times now before gettign it to work on successive combines. It's nuts for those of us that are really fast at long runs. But, if it stops the stupid macroer's I guess it's just something I'm gonna have to learn to deal with.

The no casting/no looting ect ect bug I've experienced several times. It seems to happen to me most when I attempt to loot a corpse too quickly and corpses that have odd target boxes like oozes or whatever. I'll assume my wait state gets traped in "looting" and my cast fuction becomes disabled. I've noticed as a 'way out' I can click an AA fuction and I can cast again once more, but I am not able to loot until my wait state times out or someone forces it to null by looting the corpse I first attempted to loot.
This might be a newly made delay or could be a new bug with looting OOR.
As to weather this would even effect BoT-ers I'd have to say no, but I have no idea what programs they are using nor do I care. Slowing them down a second or 2 is irrelevant.
I have also noticed the tradeskill combine delay. I at first assumed it was lag related but noticed it several times across several days. It is more noticable on quick combines,..i.e. CEs.
Personally I hope this gets addressed.

I was googling around for some (unrelated) EQ info yesterday when I came across one of the larger macroing communities -- it was a message board for one of the more popular programs used. In the opinion of the "professional" macroers (for lack of a better name to call them), this delay is intentionally coded, not due to lag.
Take this as you will.
Here's a simple test anyone can do. Head over to any tradeskill container and put in any item(s), whether they are for a legal combine or just trash, then click the combine button as fast as you can, over and over. See how many clicks you can get in before you start getting error messages. From my personal experience, only every second or third click registers with the system and generates an error message. That tells me that for whatever reason, the other clicks are being ignored.Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade
