Any way you look at it, the delay only punishes the honest gamer and must be removed.
Hey, I'll go ahead and speculate a little here. Either SOE knows of another exploit they haven't fixed yet or they're waiting a little while to see if any more crop up. I expect that then they will remove the pause.

The biggest reason I think this way is because they've done it before. Waaayyy back in the before, when they gave us Karana fletching. When Mr. Nitestorm was perma-killed on most servers; he was still happily selling supplies on Lanys. The bugger of the deal was that tradeskilling anything in Surefall was soooo slow. Actually, most clicky things were slow: such as opening doors. Combat was fine. Cool thing was; you could tell successes and failures before the game let you know. Failures came back quick; successes, slooowww. After they fixed the sell-back pricing; everything was hunky-dory.

    Just my $.02

Judging by SoE history in the past five years, once a nerf is in place, it takes nearly an act of god to get it removed. While I would hope it's something temporary, I realize there's a 99% chance it's here to stay.

Tudamorf, there are two types of programs out there that macroers use. There's the type you're talking about that people use to save their wrists from the click click click click of brewing or whatever. Then there's another commonly available program that will let someone do combines at super human speed. This is the sort of program the unscrupulous plat salesmen use to generate plat. It just sends the commands instead of doing mouse clicks at all. This is the sort of quick plat generating that the new selling delays were designed to bust up.

        Yes,

Lets assume for a moment that there is a built in delay by Sony to give a minimum time for a combine. Especially to the point where it slows a normal person doing tradeskilling down. Umm, score one for the macro programs. This only helps them and it means more legit people will be using. If it takes 2 seconds for me to succeed on a combine for a no-fail celestial essence, i'd seriously consider getting a macro program to do it so i don't have to sit there taking hours and hours of my time for a no-fail combine. Let the macro program munch on it, i'll go watch a movie.
At least in current form i can have the fun of trying to optimize my clicks and what not, if all it is is just hitting combine and waiting 2 seconds, i have no trouble with automating that. How many people used EQWindows before Everquest built EQWindows into their system? When you make the interface so cumbersome that people have to install 3rd party software, regardless of the consequences, in order to do what they normally should be able to do, you did something wrong.
