Hmm, I thought fletching requires no foraging? Can be done via all arrows and bows, all store bought.

fletching is lots of drops or store bought.

smithing. while spiderling silk is a forage in an ldon dungeon most hunt it and the shadow scream is all dropped, the acrylia is dropped, the cutting sickles require imbues but not drops that i know of.

pottery lots use heavy clay to make crucibles of esacpe which is dropped and the rest is store bought. not sure on other recipes.

tailoring can be done with fishing and wyvern hides to 250. fishing instead of foraging. many cultural tailoring require foraging though. the other velious recipes require forages to make though.

        already mentionded baking and brewing.

jc is all bought but now some very nice gems are foraged in ldon.

Foraging makes rangers feel important during the largest part of their EQ gaming experience.....waiting for a rez.

Good rangers don't die that much, hard to die while bow kiting snared mobs when you are SOEed after all :P.

Well.... My fishing skill is somewhere in the range of 150... Cobalt Cod are a wonderful way to make a few hundred PP a day, but now the only guy who actually makes Arctic Wyvern Armor on Vallon is paying only 30pp each instead of 50pp each. As for PoS, I heard that the fish here are outstanding for levelling up... but I am level 47 as of right now, and a Dorf Cleric... the leader of my guild, and probably about 5 levels below the highest regular player.... getting flagged for PoS is **** near impossible.

As for the insane skill jumps in tradeskilling... usually 20 skillups or more between recipes, I am not rich... usually about 4k is all I have in the bank, and it's hard for me to make money on anything except temperance, and that is a moot trade as well since about 40 people levelled clerics to 44 just to cast it, and subsequently slash prices to be the most competitive.

Since my first posting, I made a Wisdom twink druid for under 500pp... not bad me thinks, but even with a starting skill of 50 in forage, I have yet to pick up even a flask of water. 185 wisdom from 115 ain't half bad for 500pp... and I could have probably done it for less had I shopped around over a couple days.... but what's 500pp anyway.

from everyone's posts here, I can now continue skilling up my tradeskills without worrying about what I need to buy from a player for a while... Thank you all.

I have a question about baking now... on either this thread, or the one that was linked to from here, someone said you get 10 combines from one veggie, and 72 combines from one fruit. How is this possible, and what exactly are you making??

the 72 combines from 1 fruit would be the marmalade sandwiches...

                1 fruit + 3 frostings = 6 marmalades

                1 marmalade + 1 loaf of bread = 12 marmalade sandwiches

you're getting a possible 72 end product, but only 7 attempts.. all at 99 trivial.

The 10 combines from a veggie is the jum jum salad

veggie + lettuce + fennel + jum jum = 10 jum jum salads.

it's actually only 1 combine, but yeilds 10. don't remember the trivial offhand though.

But when you're on snare duty and you're generating enough aggro to turn the mob on snare, and you decide it might be a good time to start nuking, you could die.

Hehe, I never quit, just lowered my playing time. My work is such that I am lucky to get on once a week. I browse the forum all the time and I still do tradeskills when I can.
