  • New LDoN Puzzle

Not sure if it has been posted before, but there's a new puzzle on the LDoN page...

Correct me if I'm wrong but this puzzle has 40320 possible solutions.

    8 positions for each rune
10 possible runes to choose to place in the first box
    9 in the 2nd
    8 in the 3rd
    7 in the 4th

Product of all of those is 40320... guess we will have to follow the clues

This in no way requires my direct attention, so I'm removing it from the DenMother's Corner and putting it over in the General Forum.

If you ordered from EB games, you got a key chain with these symbols. using the symbols on it, both sides together, you get a clue. I was told to see Kizpi in everfrost. I suspect this is how you get your weight reduction bag improved.

Much more that 40,000 possibilities... there are millions.

But... it has been solved. I won't spoil it completely, but if you look at the bracelet that comes in the retail box you'll soon have it figured out.

              Spoil it please

You need the keychain in the retail box to solve it?
So those of us that ordered it online get hosed?
              Thanks,

The quest is for those who bought the boxed set. If you bought the boxed set you paid about 5 dollars more, but you got an in-game reward of a weight reduction bag. The quest is to improve that bag. If you ordered it from Sony to download, you can't do the quest anyway.

When someone does this quest, would you please post the weight of the bags? I am inclined to do this with my monk, but if the bags weigh 3 stones or some such silliness, it wouldn't be worth it for her.

Yes, those that ordered online got hosed.

Only those that ordered the boxes (retail) got the keychain and in-game bag.

But those that order retail paid more, so who got hosed is something of a debate.

The first bag is 8 slot, large, 25 % reducing and weighs 1.0

Haven't upgraded mine yet, have to go to work, but the online info states the "reinforced" bag will be 10 slot, giant and 50% reducing, so I presume weight 1.0 as well.

                    **EDIT**

My wife and I had a slight difference in keychains. My, lucky me, had the star "hole" on the key ring, her's did not. Took her longer to solve because of that.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

I do like how the "retail partners" online had the preorder price of US$29.99, which is $7 more than the preorder price (instead of the $5 dollar more $27.99 it was MSRP'd to be).

Mendatenrognabs, you have made an error in your basic assumtions.

EACH rune has 8 possible rotations, therefore the correct figures are :-

First box, 10 runes in 8 possible rotations = 80
Second box, 9 runes in 8 possible rotations = 72
Third box, 8 runes in 8 possible rotations = 64
Fourth bux, 7 runes in 8 possible rotations = 56

                          Giving a total of 80 x 72 x 64 x 56 possibilities = 20,643,840

I hope that make things clear it up for you.

                            really easy tho

If you got the box, and have the keychain, it's a really easy puzzle... just look at your keychain, line it up right according to the 'hints' and flip back and forth.. hehehe

probably told too much... but nice bag.. turns your 8 large slot 25% bag into a 10 giant slot 50% weight reduction bag..
