Not to nitpick, but what this sentence really says is you no longer have to play EQ as a mmorpg, you can play it as a 6 player Baldur's Gate style RPG instead. I think the concept behind LDoN is terrible and if its popular and other games borrow from it it will completely ruin MMORPG's. Whether or not you find things like trains, camp checks etc fun, they definetly add to the social aspects of the game, LDON more or less takes the social aspects out of the game completely. Not that big of a deal with a game the size of EQ, I just hope the next expansions aren't copies of it.
I know a lot of people who quit EQ after some dude trained them out of their camp only to take it over, also spending hours to set up a raid and fighting yardtrash to a boss mob only to get steamrolled over by the local bully uberwannabe guild is totally not fun. And no, SOE's customer service is unable to deal with issues like that (lot of GMs hate to deal with player disputes too).

You can argue that pvp is fun and gives a certain aspect to the game which I might agree with but dealing with total jerks on a non-pvp server is NOT fun for 99.5% of the EQ population.

So if SOE gives me the control of whom I wanna adventure with in the same zone then I applaud them, take the gift and renew my subscription for a year.

Nah, Lilosh, porting to CS might not be precisely safe, but I think Mischief is even less so. EVERY mob is aggro, and I'd bet on most seeing invis

I dabbled in PoM when my boyfriend's char was bound there. The way it stood, I would never see PoM for myself. My guild has never been to ToV, let alone far enough in to click on the little house. So, I'm really glad to see they are going to move the entrance to somewhere accessible, but I'm saddened that they're changing the tone of the plane by adding aggro.

As for LDoN, I think it's wonderful that with a group of just 4, you can do something fun for 90 minutes and get rewards from it. How many times did you log on with just two hours to play and by the time you found friends and a zone to do something in, your time had run out?

On a side note, does anyone else think the laugh track in PoM is from the beginning of the Motley Crue song She Goes Down, or am I crazy?
