I have a question about the cost of this

Next, Darkwood, Hemp, and 2 Cams (took 25kpp and finished with, 100pp):

Total - 440 Combines, 22 combines per skill up

if you take this section for example
Darkwood Bow Staff is 226pp 7g 8s 9c at best charisma for me
one Standard Bow Cam is 37pp 7g 9s 9c, so two is double that
and Hemp is 1 silver
All together that is 302pp 3g 9s 7c per bow.
If you suceed you can sell the bow back to the vendor for 229pp 5gold 3silver 3 copper.
Which means you make a 72pp 8gold 6 silver 4 copper loss for each SUCESSFUL combine.
If he did this 440 times that is a cost of at least 32k if he suceeded 100% of the time, which he most probably didnt. But he said he started with 25k and finished with around 100pp.

I'm just wondering how this happened? if I'm fletching in the wrong place, or if im making the wrong recipie or maybe the guide was just based of figures from memory and so wasnt 100% exact.

There are new Arrows that have come out. That you can only get the parts in Surefall. There steel arrow heads at smithed and trival at 188 in Smithing. While making these I raised my Smithing and doubled my pp I had on hand. Belive you have to be human only for these.

Nope, any Karana worshipper can smith the parts, ive been doing them just to raise my smithing skill as a halfling.

I must admit that seeing people get from 200-250 for 70k is making me jealous.

After finishing the tailoring part of aid grimil yesterday i decided to powerskill fletching to 250.

Using the same skillup route described in the pos, with 355 INT / 305 DEX / 168 CHA.
It cost me 130kpp and took 5hours worth of combining.

I dont know what could have caused that much of a difference. And yes, i used geerlock.

I didnt log the skillups tho but my estimate would be around 40 attempts pr. point.

i spent 30k and did 15 skillups on the shadewood bows from 220-235 ^_^ i am very happy!

My stats: int 335 wis 220. Used geerlok. Total PP spent was 81k.

I decided to get my fletching up. I went from 203 to 250 in 4 1/2 hours. Cost around 85K did the bows as mentioned above. I know it costed me around 8k from 203 to 215. After that it was a blur. STR 305, DEX 305, WIZ 259. Had about a total of 10 failures. Over all I am pleased now if I can just get them Veg Vines or a group to go and fight there with me to get them.

Wow 203-215 for only 8k. I just did 55 combines last night for 202-204 but it cost me 2.2k just for those two points. I may reconsider and start farming for acrylia arrows if it starts to get too expensive. I even make my own cams to try and lessen the cost.

Took me about 15k to go from 202 to 215.
Was pretty awful.

I did acrylia arrows to get to 220, and I think ill stick with them for now, buying the stuff I need in the bazaar when I see it. Condensed stuff is pretty rare in the bazaar.

I did the buy and sell of the bow. Dont loose that much on sucessful combine.

I sell back the bows too, I must have failed at least 5 of them in that run. I was using a geerlock too to try and minimize the failures. A guildie just gave me an idea that it may be cheaper to buy all the items for acrylia arrows from the bazaar. Even if small bricks of acrylia and condensed shadow can be bought for say 40pp total, in the long run it will be cheaper throwing in the factor that failed bow combines are very expensive. Just finding enough supplies can be a problem.

Hard to say condensed shadow goes from 20 to 40 per on our server and bricks range from 25 to 50. I tried this some but skill checks were far and few between. I even went and farmed some of the condensed shadow.
