    250 Fletching

The only reason to get to 250 is to show off right? All you people who spent time/effort to get 250 could have just stopped at 240 right?

That's my understanding, yes. I only got to 241 b/c I hit 240 and had two more shadewood staves, so I did those (more profitable to sell back the bow than the staff) and got a skill up.

If you have a geerlok (or other 5% mod), 240 is the same as 250 for success rate, yes.

I am 230+ just about every tradeskill on my main or alts and I see this stuff on every board. 200-250 for only 3k! Ya you can do it with JC or brewing or even baking but when people post these stats for fletching and say it cost them 30K ??????? I dont see how. You said everything is store bought cuase you were to lazy to tinker cams.... sell back on each bow is -100pp++ plus failures. You made over 400 bow your first run, how is this even possible>?
          Am I missing something?

It purely depends on the route you take. As fletching isn't a real concern for a chanter, i've taken the acrylia arrow route.. and farmed all my components. Gathering the material for the first 8 points (203-209) has actually not cost e anything, and i've made over 20k in colateral pp loot. Getting skill to 250 should increase my coffers by 100k or so.

Now, the people spending 50-75k are using purely storebought bow combines, which is the most expensive way to do it.

That's why the wide variance of cost in threads like this. The more time farming = less cost; less farming = more cost.... generally.

It cost me around 90k, doing bows only, to go from 220 - 250 this past weekend. I went to parse my log only to find out... it wasn't on Anyway, I had some brutal dry spells but the last 5 points went very fast, so fast that I had a ton of supplies on me I had to burn up!

sorry to bump this, from 202-250 it cost me about 120k (with the skill up route posted orginally).

i have 305 wis, and i can get my chrsm over 150 of what it normally is.

                you make me cry =(

All of this has convinced me to go the mithril arrow route instead of the bow route. I'd much rather lose 30k instead of 100k+ to get fletching from 200-250. Thank goodness there's at least one tradeskill woodelves can do that's cheaper than storebought.

                    Hi everyone,

This past weekend I took my Fletching from 218 to 240 and finally got my first Trophy !!

First off a couple of weeks ago I spent a couple of days taking a new Gnome Necro to 16 - very very easy with the help from some nice peeps in PC. At level 16 Gnomes have their tinkering cap (50) released.

Next, I geared him up to about 165 INT at a cost of 1000pp. I then got his tinkering up to 90 for a cost of approx 1000pp. Bow Cams triv at 75 for tinkerers but I wanted a little more experience for him so that he would fail less on the cams.

Next I saved up a bit of pp on my main and went to work.

After all that was said and done I dropped 12k into Fletching to raise it from 218 to 240. Once I trived on the Darkwood Bows I moved onto Mithril Arrows since Lokase is a Woodelf.

I made my trophy on the first shot once I hit 240.

I would like to thank the Denmother and everyone else here at EQTraders to help make this acheivment possible .

                    Lokase,

Grats! How many arrows do you have in inventory now? :-)

Eventually all of mine sold, in fact, and I might need to make some more some day.

                        hehe,

I made a tonne of arrows but havn't sold any yet. FQ + Mithril Arrows + Trueshot Disc is just wwwwwayyyy to much fun - starting to feel the power of the archer in my ranger.

I suppose I will sell some soon - I just wanted to have some fun with the high end arrows first .

                        Cheers,

Here is my skillup info. Started with 106k. At point 249-250 I had 4k left but had to go back to the bank and grab another 10k to finish off that last point since the RNG was moody and didn't want to give me the last point. So total I brought 116k and ended with 7k.

                          First up Darkwood with Hemp
                          216-221 400 combines exactly

Next, Darkwood, Hemp, and 2 Cams
                          221-235 322 combines

                          Last, Shadewood with Hemp
                          235-246 178 combines
                          246-249 42 combines
                          250 123 combines

                          Grand Total from 202-250
                          1055 Combines
                          22.6 Combines per skill up
                          Approximately 110kpp

                            Finished off Fletching last weekend.

Lokase is a Wood Elf so I did the Mithril route. I was 240 in Fletching when I started and I saved up 400 Mithril tries.

                            I dinged 250 on the 396th try out of 400 - woot !.

The components for the 400 tries cost about 6k - not bad for 10 up ticks - my WIS was at 246 and my DEX was at 241 for all 400 tries.

                            Hope this helps .

                            Cheers,

                            Lokase
