Elemental Bow Difficulty

Am I doing something wrong here or are these bows just really hard?

0/5 on poe bows
0/1 on pow bows

250 skill + GM knife, 270+ dex and wis when doing the combine.

Did all combines in collapsable kit.

The kit broken or are these just that hard?

They do triv high, and not great success ratio but you had a lousy run, which is normal for the RNG.

(Every possible outcome you can think of, good and bad, is NORMAL for the RNG)

You could try the 'success after failure' trick.

I combined Shadewood Compound bows (Shadewood, silk, plane, 2 cams) until i got a failure then I combined an Earth bow.

I went 3/3 on earth bows using this method the other day, however, in the cruel, evil, insane way of the RNG, it too, will prolly bite me in the ash...

Someones gonna try this method, go 0/9,283,649 and scream at me sayin its my fault. =)

from observing a 250 fletching, along with my own experiences (241+geerloK), we've seen about a 40-50% success rate with PoP elemental bows

Anyone have more data to add on the success rate of elemental bows? I'm trying to get a ballpark success rate figure with 250 fletching.

Ya I've done quite a few more attempts at bows. Here is what I can recall from memory:

1/3 on pof bows
3/7 on poa bows
1/3 on pow bows
2/13 (yes, 13) on poe bows

So I'm about 40-50 percent on non poe bows. Not sure whats up with poe bows. Will probably have some more combines to do soon.

currently i'm sitting at 3/5 on Elemental bows

2/3 PoE

1/2 PoF

I've only tried the shadewood compound bow trick once and was successful in making a PoE bow. Another guildie has been doing that same trick and at last count is 5/5 since doing it. Maybe the trick works, maybe it is pure dumb luck, but either way 6/6 doing the trick between the 2 of us is pretty nice.

PoE = 1/3 so far. The successful run is my very first attempt. No luck on second and third run though.

Starting to think my fail rate on poe bows was just a run of bad luck. Regardless, seems to be about 50/50 chance of success on elemental bows.

A friend of mine is currently 5/6 on PoE bows =/. Rather than risk the evil RNG's bias against me, I let him do all of our combines.

Of course, the one he failed was with my components.

There is no escape.

I would keep doing the trick too, but due to lack of pp I can't afford to do that everytime I want to attempt an elemental bow.

Think I am going to use a similar thing on the next farwater bp I try, 0/2 on those, and its really getting annoying.

Thought I posted here but will do it again. I am 1/1 on PoF bow. Have 250 skill, GM trophy. Got Dex buff/scarecrow illusion which gave me 295 dex, c5 for 315 wis(not sure that helps).
