I wish i had found you before you spent that 100k because I could have saved about 70k for you.

    http://oov.eqsanctum.com/oov/fletching.php

I was able to go to 210 under 3k at indiff faction less then 100 stats and then work on the rest it cost me about 38k total for the complete endeavor of 250 fletching.

Mind you I was lucky and guildies had the needed materials to i think it would have actually been about 60k maybe.

The Acrylia and condenced substances are the acknowledged cheapest route, but they are the most time consuming to gather.

I'm not done yet, but I'm complining my continued fletching stats. Essentially, as of last night I've gone from fletch 210 to 216 on Mithril Arrows. I spent 3.2k and made 10 stacks of each of the components. 200 attempts for 6 points. It took about 5 hours to do all the smithing and pre-fletching, ore fetching etc and then another 30 min to do the final combines. It would be worth noting I have 3 accounts up and running for this, a druid bound at the Kelethin forge and a shaman sitting by the forge to hold extra trade supplies. Druid runs to Felwithe, buys the mithril and gates back.

Next I'm putting together 10 stacks worth of attempts of acrylia. I've already spent 8 hours farming acrylia and I have about 100 bricks total. Next I have to pair them down to small bricks (what a joke, 1 block = 1 large brick = 1 small brick. You should at least get 2 small bricks in the end, the weight is nearly half afterall).

Then I project 4 hours to get the condenced substances to match the acrylia. I'll be using the Shaman again (level 54) and a level 59 cleric for AEs.

In contrast, I spent the 10k on making the bows, and got 8 points in 45 minutes.

To be honest, if I were to sell my Acrylia at 50-100 plat a block (depending on size) I could take that money and buy more combines of Mithril attempts than I would get for the Acrylia blocks, and that's without the condensed substances. But I'm going ahead with the experiment because I want to see if the skill up rate off acrylia is any better than the skill up on mithril.

I had all but given up on fletching after I reached skill 215. I did not have the best gear for fletching at the time and spent many moons farming acrylia and condensed substances. I had over 400 combines at 215 with no skill ups (the highest my dex was at the time was around 190). This was when I was around level 56. Then I hit lv 61, and had some nice buffs, and decided I'd make a few arrows for an upcoming raid. With dex at 260, I got 4 skill ups in just 30 combines!! Needless to say I am farming again as I do not have the pp to go the bow route, but this retired fletcher is back at it again!

As for the time to get the acrylia, take a good group to Acrylia Caverns. The drop rate there is incredible. I also camp the entrance to Akheva Ruins for condensed shadow.

          Condensed Shadow

The best place for condensed shadow with minimal riskt/effort is the two northern caverns in Shadeweaver's Thicket. It's close to the PC entrance.

There are two types of mobs that spawn, the Gor Taku (brown aliens) and the Shak Dratha (Black aliens). If you kill all the Gor Taku in both caverns you will eventually get a cycle of Shak Dratha. 8 minute respawn, you can clear each cavern in under 5 minutes if you're sufficient level or have the ability to AE the lil buggers to death. In about an hour and a half of killing off these two caverns I usually come away with 80-90 chunks of condensed shadow and a truck load of silks.

Being a wood elf I got sick of farming and decided that farming cash and just making mithril was faster. I haven't checked the trivial against the new UI but I am fairly certain that the trivial on Mithril Champion arrows is higher then Shadow tipped acrylia arrows.

I forgot just how long ago I finally reached 250 in fletching. I will say this, I am NOT making any more arrows after I get the two new Gates of Discord arrows made. Thank Tunare for Endless Quiver.

Funny, same here. My ranger's been stuck on 203 for months. Unfortunately I have to do the farming Acrylia route so it's slow going, but I know I'm at 400+ combines by now. Dex is over 200 and wis is close to it when I do combines.

I've given up and gone to other things now. It just got far, far too frustrating to continue.

if you really want to go from 203+ in fletching go storebought, however dont bother unless you got a good 10k on you to make it worth your time. Fletching is all about the money, and now with the new UI you can hit 200-250 in a couple of hours or less as long as you got the 70k or whatever suits your luck

if you are NOT elemental flagged, farm tradeskill items such as:

              - rockhoppers in DSP, easy 150-250 a piece.
              - 200+skill tradeskill items, ie Boar Meat, Mephit Meat, etc, easy 50pp a piece
              - farm BoT named, etc, sell ornate
              - * theres a lot of us lazy tradeskillers who regularly pay extreme amounts just so we dont have to farm items that can be made by a level 12 warrior.

if you are elemental flagged then you already know what to do. IE farm sol ro for ornate and sell, farm the other elemental zones for tradeskill drops, ie Stonewood staffs, saps, etc, of course there are unlimited amount of ways to make $$$ in EPs.

no wonder my server's enchanters like me and are willing to do metals for me...i pre-donate for targeting and unless there is something really wrong, the sum of 50 pp is my normal donation...

when i donate for enchanting metals and ores, it is usually 5 pp per bar/brick/morsel
