rods still breaking?

I got my fishing skill up to 200 last weekend from 162 sitting at the dock in Rivervale and broke my fishing pole twice, once at level 198 and once at level 199 go figure. Sure glad there was a merchant nearby.

Broke my pole once yesterday

was a Collapsible Fishing Pole
i was lvl 197 or 198 (had been fishing quite a lot from skill 192), had to go to merchant to tink a new one

got able to ding 200 fishing tho...

I know this is PURELY coincidental, but I've started to look FORWARD to the "you've spilled your beer" message. For some odd reason, about 80% of the time, I get a skill up on the very NEXT cast after I get that message.

I have a 200 fishing skill and my pole seems to break about every 10 stacks of bait give or take a stack.

I can understand the breaking of a pole, but the frequency is rediculous. When you 1st start with 0 skill having one break maybe 1 in 200 would be fine. But once you reach 200 it should be at best 1 in 10000 casts.

I broke my fishermans' companion pole.

Not that it matters, a simple right click brought me a new one.

I think my record was 6 straight poles in UGuk.

I was a lowly 30th, camping myself some Gatorsleeves. I decided to work on begging (pet), nuking (pet) and fishing in between the godawful along spawn times. Got to about 50 and then broke 6 poles straight. Guildmate flew in with 8 more poles, which got me a total of 10 points before all being broken.

It may just be anecdotal but I had the feeling that my strength affected the chance to break a rod. As a shaman my str varies at times due to buffs. When I fish with a higher str I seem to break more poles than I do at normal str.

May just be me though.
