OK, when I brew a coldain heater with my 162 skill + geerlok and all my INT geer on (209 INT) I get a nice, solid 15% fail rate.
When I then brew up the temper with all of those oh-so-fun-to-make CEs, I get a 7% failure rate.
This has always been consistant over the past 500 or so tempers I've made up.
Now, someone had chided me in one thread noting that INT will not effect success in one bit so I figured that with such solid numbers backing me up, I'd take a go at it without my INT gear doing the same skill 162 + geer with a mear 110 INT (pretty smart for a troll).
To say that I was horrified by the results is an understatement.
I had 100 CH already made, so all I did was temper combines - to the tune of a mear 3% fail rate.
It gets better - out of 40 additional CH combines, I failed but 3 while the 37 temper combines only failed 1.
Now, admittedly, this is hardly a definative sampling, but it was just weird enough to peak my interest into exploring a bit further as well as recomending that a few others might want to have a look as well.
