  • How much do you charge for Grobb Liquefied Meat?

I’m just curios what different brewers charge. I see this most of the time for 20 to 50pp each on my server. Even as a seller I find these prices excessive. I’m a 250 brewer so I know what it takes to get your skill that high, and compared to most trade skills it isn’t bad at all. And I realize that the recipe requires a corking device. But the more drinks you sell the more that charge is expensed. And really, even counting failed combines each drink shouldn’t cost you more than 1.5pp. And everything is store bought, no farming whatsoever is required. So when I make some to sell on my vendor I price it at 10pp each. That’s over 8pp profit on each drink. I feel this is a fair profit for my time and an affordable price for most customers.

What do the rest of you base your prices on?

Price in the Bazaar on Sol Ro seems to vary between 6.5pp (infrequently) and 10pp (there always seem to be a couple of vendors at this price). I usually price mine at 8pp, and I can usually sell about four or so stacks in 24 hours.
Its a decent turnaround, but you have to sell in volume to make money. And usually, at the end of a 20 combine session, my eyes have glazed over somewhat due to all of the subcombines necessary, and I'm always leaving stuff out by accident at the end. I'm just grateful that bad recipes don't eat items anymore. I'd be fairly upset if I had to replace my 1800pp corking device everytime I screwed up the items I was using...

      (probably lose money, actually)

        Fair is relative

Charging what you think is "fair" is a fast way to crash your market. Soon enough, someone power-skilling an alt will make 5000 GLM's and dump them at 3.5PP each, because that's "fair." You will long for the days of being able to sell them for 10-15Pp each. You'll be lucky if you don't get yelled at when you sell at 5PP.

Charge what the market will bear. Match the lowest current price unless you are desperate to move your wares, then undercut the lowest price by as small a margin as possible. Undercutting wars are nasty. You can see the price for, say, Demi-Sec Champagne drop from 200/bottle to 50/bottle in a matter of hours.

The more profit per unit you can reap, the less time you need to spend crafting and selling, and the more time you can spend hunting/questing/doing other in-game things you enjoy. Doing sub-combines for marketable goods will eventually pall; it gets to be almost like a job. Don't do that to yourself.

On the Tribunal I am the HIGH seller at 8pp per. Everyone else ranges from 3pp to 7.5pp. I've been known to buy them up to resell when I see them at 3.

It fluxuates on Brell a lot.

When I first made them it would go for 10pp, and I'd sell 100+ every night I left my trader on. If I went down to 8pp or 7pp I'd sell twice that easily, just depended on how often I wanted to brew.

Then more and more people started selling them.

When it got to the point that I wouldn't sell any at all in 24 hours at 5pp because 8 people had them at 5 and 2 people had them at 4.5 I stopped making them.

Last time I was in bazaar, no one was selling them at all... so the market is strange, and I might make a batch again.

There are 2 important things there, what is your time worth to you, and what are people willing to pay for your time?

For me 5pp is the absolute lowest I'd sell them for, what is your break point?

I can make CE and Heady Kiola that require almost no skill at all, and make more profit for the time I spend, sad considering how difficult it was to get to a level that I could make GLM.

Now I'm just rambling, sorry .

That's more or less the reason I quit dealing with HMPs. The sale price just wasn't worth the hassle for me. I still make them, but only for myself, and thus only one or two combines at a time (which gradually get whittled away when I forget to forcefeed myself).
Probably just as well. I don't have any tradeskill AAs yet, and I'm not sure that either brewing or baking are the first skills that I want to take over 200 yet.

As for GLM's on Sol Ro, even with the prices as 'low' as they are, I still have a sneaking suspicion that they're going to get lower very soon. I've found as many as seven people selling recently at the same time, and I suspect its only a matter of time before a mad price-cutting spree ensues, and the price drops through the floor.

                Xegony

On Xegony, I've seen them ranging from 3 - 30pp.

3pp is equally as insane as 30pp if you ask me.

Average sell price is 5-7, which is where I price mine. You can often find people between 8-10pp as well, and they do eventually sell, but it will definately take some time.

I was the low seller at 6p9g for a while, but lately there are some people selling at 3-4pp each. I stick mine up overnight, and usually sell some when these guys aren't on, but nothing like I used to. I have pretty much stopped making it for a while, although I have to make some soon because I and some friends of mine are almost out.

Don't ask me for halas pies though, 2.5-3p each is to many clicks to bother with except for myself.

price on E'ci is set at 7plat.
Highest I've seen is 10, maybe 15 (but only selling 40 GLM)
when I was skilling up on these, I would sell between 3 and 5 plat. Even selling at 3, I could still make a profit.

On TM, I have talked to *most* of the vendors that sell GLM's. I have initiated what I can best describe as a 'gentleman/woman's agreement 'for the most part'.

Those that read what I write to them, set their prices between 5 and 6pp (as the minimums).

I try to explain to them that selling them at or just above cost does nothing except wash out the stat drink market as bad or worse than the stat food market. And since we have a heck of a lot less recipies to work with to make plat with, this does nothing but give all of the other brewers a big black eye.

So far, all but 1 person has agreed, and matchs prices with us. Of course, "Enchantra" is too good to play ball. At first she caused a bit of a price war, until everyone saw and understood what was happening and reset their prices back up again.

While I and everyone else understand that the bazaar is a free-market economy, sometimes lowest is not best.

Wow, there are a lot of responses to this. *smiles* I realized that prices fluctuated between severs, but the differences are somewhat amazing.

Since I posted this question things have changed on Seventh Hammer. Last night there were about eight people selling GLM. Before last night I never saw more than two people selling it at the same time. And though the 50pp vendor was still on, two others were selling at 10pp and one just a little below that. I have a feeling the price is about to drop drastically. Oh well, I’ve never been able to sell many of them anyway, even when mine were marked the lowest price. So it’s not a huge loss for me.

Like Halas Pies, I’ll keep making them for friends. I sell them to friends for 1.5pp each to cover failed combines. At least GLM is easier to make than Halas Pies. I’m growing to hate those things. *grins*

                          On Innorruuk

On Inny, GLMs *used* to sell for about 30pp, when there was only 1-2 GM brewers.

Now, with the influx of a lot of new GM brewers, there are usually 5-6 selling at any given time, and the prices have dropped to about 5-6 pp a piece. I still make a bit of profit in the volume that I sell, but, as someone pointed out, your eyes start to glaze over after a while.

For some, that bit o'profit isn't enough, but it gets me by with equipment purchases and other things that I need every now and then. It's also nice to just have a steady flow of income from repeat customers, who for convenience sake, just come to me directly instead of looking for "cheaper" prices.

6pp pretty much consistently on Stormhammer. I know of 3 vendors that have them (including myself) and we all are at 6pp.
