RE: the force feeding concern so you wont eat the rare food!

How about food/drink was made potion belt enabled and 2 slots were added to the belt for the food/drink?

This way you always see the food/drink (reminder not to forget to force feed) and you don't have to dig thru your bags to find the food/drink, put it in an inventory slot, eat/drink and then put it back.

What disturbs me is how a few people capable of force-feeding to save rare food diligently can wreck the curve for all of us, because that's what Ngreth and Co. hear about.

A lot of people don't force feed tradeable foods at all. Some don't even force feed notrade foods if they have the goods available to make more. Others force-feed to various extents, but sooner or later that stack is gonna run out. Very few people are capable of force-feeding so diligently as to accomplish a Kahmon-like level of fixation.

Thanks, but I don't think you're giving the TS community enough credit. Plenty of people can remember to force feed, and there are 2 things that help greatly.

1) 3 AAs spent on Innate Metabolism. This gives you twice as much time to remember to force feed.
2) Foraging. If you do not play a class with forage, then for a mere 3 AAs you can aquire it. Keep the hotkey up. As you forage, it is a constant reminder to eat.

Ngreth has stated before that in order to improve stats on food and drink certain conditions must be met. First, there must be the chance that it is consumed. However, just because it can be consumed, does not mean that you can't stack your odds against it. Second, sometimes they must be made NO DROP, errr.... NO TRADE, such as happened to Bristlebane's Challenge.

Could you possibly spill the beans on the changes? I've been farming to make a few and don't want to get caught with ingredients I can't use, especially with the rarity of the current drops.

The new recipe is now fixed, the different elementals now work as of today. Here is how i got the components.

Steps to making Drink of Timeless Energy

All combines done in Brewling Barrel

Clear Absinthe triv 250:
fennel - vendor bought in pok, Derin O`Danos @ Western trader building
bottle - vendor bought in pok, various vendors
anise - vendor bought in pok, Johannes O`Danos @ Western trader building
grande wormwood - vendor bought in pok, Johannes O`Danos @ Western trader building
water flask - vendor bought in pok, various vendors

Chronal Absinthe triv 324:
clear absinthe - see above
chronal resonance dust x2 - uncommon drop off most mobs in sod, check bazaar also

Drink of Timelss Energy triv 400:
shimmering fairy drake dust - a serene mist drake in sunderock springs
dust of decay - an undead vassel in plane of valor
crushed diamond dust - got mine while doing serene mist drakes in sunderock springs, check bazaar also
absinthe spoon (returned) - vendor bought in pok, Basur Tu'Qual @ Eastern trader building
chronal absinthe x2 - see above
powder of ro - got mine while doing whirlwinds in arcstone and elementals in relic
dervish spirit dust - an elder whirlwind in arcstone
shimmering fairy dust - a wind nymph in dragonscale hills
xxx elemental spirit dust - any elemental spirit dust (where xxx = air, earth, fire, water) from elemental mobs in relic

Finally made some of this:-)
Got slighly confused because my notes said Faery drake dust and not Shimmering Faery drake dust.The Shimmering kind is what you need.
I have the hardest time getting Dervish spirit dust since there don't seem to be many mobs in relic that drop em.

Go after Dervish in Arcstone, it drops nicely there.
