it may very well be true

I admit to going on memory and not looking it up at all And my memory is not always the best.

Nonetheless, I still consider baking and brewing to be far easier than tailoring and smiting.

Baking and brewing have taken me longer than any other tradeskill.

Whilst the components might be easily available, the number of boring and pointless subcombines actually means these two skills have taken me the longest to increase.

This is correct. The reason that Tailoring/Smithing are 2 is because of the relative difficulty in obtaining the materials. Baking/Brewing are trivial in comparison. I would rank Baking as the easiest tradeskill to get to 300, followed by Brewing. That, of course, is a matter of personal opinion, but collecting static ground spawns with a static timer isn't bad.

I wouldn't expect them to actually bother revamping either Brewing or Baking until they try to nerf drinks and foods and piss off 95% of the players.

The only thing that some would consider a "nerf" to brewing or baking would be to remove the force feeding or the way in which you gain stats from food to where you /gasp have to eat the food to get the benefit from it. (Sub drink for food for brewing).

I do not consider this a nerf, I think it would be a healthy change for the skills. The quality of the food and drink players can craft would be able to go up. There would be a revitalized market for food and beverage in the game.

Sorry but it is a nerf when you suddenly have to start continually eating or drinking your food and drink after each time you die when previously you did not have to. That alone would make it not be worth while to bother with stat foods and drinks.

Contrary to popular belief the food and beverage market isn't in it's current condition because of force feeding. Most players don't even bother with force feeding. In fact, most people have no interest in having to do that because it is too much trouble having to remember to do that all the time. More often than not people don't even use stat food when they can just buy food and drink off of the npc vendors and barely notice any difference for most things.

No foods which would sell well are tradeable, and the ones that are semi good are not exactly easy to farm parts for so people aren't going to pay what people will charge for them. Drinks, well, there isn't a single one that is comparible to most high quality foods.

The only things the change would do would be to further drive people away from using player made food and drink because the components for it and the food and drinks themselves would be priced at the same rediculous prices as many other TS made items are at now. There will be no revitilized market for Food and Drink ever. And honestly, if the thing keeping the quality of foods and drinks down was actually force feeding then they wouldn't have made the BBC to begin with. Rashere's been talking about how they wanted to change how food and drink works since before Ngreth was even a Dev. Actually, I think that Rashere'd mentioned it right around the time that he became Lead Dev.

Well. That is definitely one of the concerns we would want to address.

and I would definitely support it be like EQ2 in that when you die, your food and drink buffs are **NOT** removed. It makes some sense. You died, but dying did not empty your stomach or bloodstream of the benefits from food and drink.

Well I ALMOST mentioned that you commonly loose bladder control when you die... but hey. We are not being graphic here now...

                        baking and brewing

By far the easiest of all tradeskills is baking and brewing. i got a total of 10 level 7 trophies (8 on main) and hardest by far was fletching for my dark elf main.
