              A few DNCs

              Vinegar+veggies+habanero+spices in oven/spit/brew barrel
              Vinegar+veggies+spices in oven/spit/brew barrel

Did not go with CSBN on either combo group as I was short for time. So not very thorough. Will try a few more later.

Also not sure if this should be in the other thread also but will leave this to others.

                  actually its distilled vinegar.

i'm wondering if that actually might be a subcombine, but havent been able to stumble onto anything close yet.

Vinegar sounds right, but I can't help wondering what other ingredients may be common in drinks with an Ogre origin.

While Hot Sauce may be similar the stuff we have here on Earth in the end, perhaps on Norrath they arrived at the same end by very different means. My search has been focusing on a combination of different spices, rather than the habanero, as a result of these thoughts.

The only thing that seems certain at this point, is that this search will drive me even deeper into my madness.

That's true. I mean, look at winter chocolate On Norrath, chocolate is made from brownies, rather than making the brownies from chocolate as we do on Earth.

Sorry, Yurien. We're all stumbling along in the dark here. The whole point of this thread is to identify the recipe for Hot Sauce, based on the clues Brodder has given us (though they're scattered across four or five threads in two forums).

Once we nail that recipe, the Hot Sauce itself is in turn a component for another unknown brewing recipe called Brodder's Revenge.

In turn, Brodder's Revenge may or may not be the solution for an unsolved quest in Shadow Haven. A female wood elf NPC named Lewena asks you to buy her a drink, in exchange for which she will tell you a secret.

The current theory (though unsupported by hard facts) is that Brodder's Revenge is NOT Lewena's favorite ale; rather, you give the Revenge to another NPC (a drunk in Shadow Haven) who then gives you clues (or maybe a quest item) that would point you towards Lewena's ale. Brodder's Revenge is designed to be a sort of hangover cure, hence the bit about handing it to a drunk.

Does this search kind of make sense now?

In 3 short sentances you've sumed up the entire thing perfectly and got me back on track with where all these threads/posts are leading.

Ive been a lurker here for years and cant wait for this to be finished or at least 1 step of it to be found.

Hum ... An interesting quote by Brodder that I missed earlier. This takes on new meaning with his confirmation of a hot sauce.

Note it may be a pepper (hot), or a pepper sauce (tobasco) instead of spices since something similar came about in Luclin neh? Not saying it is, but there could be such a chance of it being true...
What do you all make of the "something similar ... in Luclin" line? Is there some kind of spicy recipe in Luclin? Maybe something that would mirror the Hot Sauce recipe, if we swap some ingredients around?
