    I feel the original posters pain. I just did 200 combines on MTP and got 3 skill ups and 24 successes. That's ~67 combines per skill up....ugh. Not good enough for me.

    On the other hand, earlier in the day I did 25 storm salmon fillet combines and got 2 skill ups and 44 fillets. (12 combines per skill up)

    I started the day at 193 btw and ended at 198. Wis was around 255 or so

    I think I'm going to stay away from MTP as I seem to have really bad luck with them. The truffles and salmon fillets are the way to go imo.

      Lucky. I'd kill for someone to ever sell these in the bazaar. At least, sell any when I'm around.

        Actually, Mammoth Meat is rare in the Bazaar. I've only actually bought in in the Bazaar 2 or 3 times. (I bought about 4 stacks off a vendor in Shadow Haven once, and that's what got me into making HMPs in the first place) I'd much rather go work on something else when there's no MM for sale than go take time to actually hunt Mammoths, when I won't get any xp for killing them.

          Spend a coulpe hours running around EW ... got a stack of mammoth meat easily that way Well, I had a snow griffon pet usually and he helped a bit

          And since 1 stack of mammoth meat = 200 pie combines (hopefully) you really don't need to hunt more than that at a time.

          You can probably buy wolf meat from the vendors in Halas or Everfrost since low level people tend to sell it to the store.

            Oddly, I've got 8 stacks of Mammoth meat and only 1 of Wolf in my prep for my mammoth skilling session.... and 7 of those stacks I bought off a player that was hunting the mammoth for the tusks.

              Don't feel bad....

              My monk (with KEI and some gear) has wis/int of 129. With my baking geerlok I had the following fun from 191 to 200

              201 attempts, 6 successes --> 192 (attempts 153 - 201 were with MTP since I ran out of mushrooms)
              71 attempts, 3 successes --> 193
              41 attempts, 0 successes --> 194
              90 attempts, 6 successes --> 195/196
              28 attempts, 0 successes --> 197
              41 attempts, 0 successes --> 198
              75 attempts, 5 successes --> 199
              23 attempts, 1 success --> 200

              Currently I'm on my 23 attempt into 201.

              So 191 is the hell level (imo). Yes, I could maximize my successes by getting more int/wis gear, but then I'd have no room in my bank for my ingredients. I chose MTP because I can easily get all the ingredients, the end product is light (HMP are too heavy for my monk to carry) and in general I can trade them for my group to get KEI (I don't like paying plat for things like that).

              It took me 2 days, about 6 hours each of casual play (half of that was probably chatting with the guild or answering /ooc questions in PoK), but I reached 200 yesterday. Hopefully you won't have to go 201 attempts like I did. The sad part is that those 201 attempts were scattered about over a month. Everytime I'd get mushrooms or cinnamon sticks I'd try again. <sigh> Now at least I am starting to make the fun food

              Good luck - now it's time for me to start thinking about my spoon
