Got up this morning and couldn't set my vendor up due to there being 500 active traders. To kill time while waiting for somebody to go LD I started looking up various baking and brewing goods to see who's selling what and at what prices. 15 people were selling Halas Meat Pies and a combined total of 2485 pies were on the market at prices from 3 to 7 pp each. I'm just curious if Quellious is unique in its glut of bakers (and HMP's) or is this a game-wide phenomenon?

Anything that's a skill up product is hosed - the truffels can be found for less than a plat on Xev, HMPs for 2-3pp if you wait a little bit and look, MTP for as low as 8pp - the only items holding at a descent price point are the lotus pies and the lucky cabage.
Same thing goes for brewing - the Grobb and Kaladims are going for dirt and the Qeynos teas have dipped under 10pp.
No more EQ for me till they fix the crash bug.

On Brell there are anywhere from 3-7 vendors selling HMP (at least, whenever I get on to sell them, that is) and the majority of them are priced at 4pp each, with some going for 6 or 7 sometimes. I wouls say total they have about 800-2000 of them on the market as well. (including my 300 or so after a hearty baking run)
The only good thing about that, in my opnion, is that anyone taking a glance at those stats would assume (I hope) that since there are so many on the market, most people want/need stacks and stacks of these things so they buy up from me all the time.
That or people just have money to burn and dont' mind consuming all their stat food.~Turlie Silverwine~

Brell seems to have a widely fluctuating market.
Last week there were mistletoe cutting sickles for 1500pp there, and Star Ruby encrusted steins started at 300pp.
Last night I go on, Steins are 100pp, so I buy one... now only missing Blessed Fishing Rod and Mistletoe Sickle...
Someone correct me on the spelling, but Sickles last night were 2500-3500, I had never seen anyone charging 3500 previously
.
On the plus side GLM is going for 7-8pp now, when it was consistantly at 5pp 2 weeks ago when I started selling. I gave friends stacks to sell at 10pp, and it actually worked, people started matching closer to my fake prices. Gotta love people who follow the leader
.
I've actually sold a couple hundred at 10pp too... unintentionally.

HMP's on Vallon Zek are running....(tabs over and checks bazaar) 14-20pp at this very moment; MTPs running from 55pp-150pp. Usually only 3-5 people selling each at any given time. I'm assuming that there just aren't that many tradeskillers on VZ because it's PvP.
Oh, and there is ONE person selling Ohabah truffles, for 8pp each.

yeah, I saw the Grobb went up again on brell so was worth it for me to make some again.
The only market going down is the MTP's unfortunatly. Down to 9pp now :-(

One nice thing that I've noticed atleast is that one can still sell at somewhat good prices on the road. When made the mistake of trying to skill on HMP I was /auctioning them for 5pp each in PoK when the bazaar had them for 3-4 - sold every last one of them before I even got back to the bazaar that night.
Same thing happens with the MTPs - price has held steady in the bazaar for them at 8-9pp but I don't have issues /auctioning for them at 10pp each while skilling in Shadow Haven - haven't even had some snot /ooc "They're only 8pp in the bazaar" on me yet.

Shhh, thats my secret Cigar...
PoK seems to get me a lot of hits when I am trying to unload stuff fast.
Usually don't go around with my brewed stuff... tends to go fast enough in bazaar. When I want to make a quick buck selling a few backpacks, they go way faster in PoK than in bazaar or nexus though.
Maybe more high level people hanging out there that don't mind shelling out a few hundred pp for 4-5 backpacks for their convienience. It looks like that filters down to food as well.

Tarrew Marr,
Grob's 3 to 5pp,
QAT 15 to 20,
Kaladims 12 to 25pp,
HMP's 4 to 9pp..
I notice alot of the food and drink products, as someone pointed out, have a tendency to have dumpsters....
I disagree with Kaladims but, I think they are too expensive and too hard to make as a skill up item...

it is also possibly relevant, at least in the case of halas meat pies, that when I was skilling up on them I went 165 for 167 on combines. I would be quite happy to dump these if I could because they take up a ton of space.
Is that success rate normal for the pies? I went from 213 to 224 skill on them.

I eat themOriginally posted by Turlie SilverwineThat or people just have money to burn and dont' mind consuming all their stat food.
I've generally got HMP and liquidised meat on my warrior. I'll swap them into a slot where they won't get eaten if I'm not hunting, but I don't try to conserve them other than that. Not worth the bother given the low cost and long duration.Aabidano - Phantasmist

Back to the original poster's question.....
It's a server-wide phenomenon or "side effect". You have lots and lots of folks that are Bakers and each striving to get those skillups. You're gonna have their goods hit the market eventually as more folks get on the Tradeskill bandwagon.
Consider yourself lucky that so few people on your server sell these items. On Sol Ro it's a daily undercutting pricewar because there are so many Bakers selling goods in the Bazaar.
