  • Bristlebane Challenge No of Products

Now that BC is no-drop, along with challenge meats, any chance the amount produced on successful combine could be increased. Its awful that such a horrendously complex recipie produces only one (accidentally) consumable item.

Even Bristlebane's Party platter produces two, and given the difficulty of the recipie, even if the BC recipie produce 10, it would still only be a barely adequate return for such a huge effort.

You are creating a massive sandwich. It wouldn't be the same if you were creating 2 smaller sandwiches... and I believe this has been posted and responded to with a no from the resident ogre. I wouldn't mind seeing it changed, but it is not a big loss to me to remain rare.

Equate it to failing the final combine of an AAAA.

Yeah, the point of the thing is to be one HUGE sandwitch

The "Challenge" part is doublemeaning... not only is it s challenge to make, but it is a challenge to "eat" (if this was "real" and you were trying to actually eat this massive thing...)

maybe the sub combines, the "Challenge" Sauces, Meats, Cheeses, Veggies...could each have a yield of 2? Then you end up getting 2 Sandwitches at the end, anyways, but each one is still massive....

if not, I completely understand, this was just a suggestion.

Purely on the basis of lore, and Law, specifically the Laws of Thermodynamics governing the Conservation of Mass and Energy, it should be 2 sandwiches per combine. I did a quick totting up of the weight of all the ingrediants for this sandwich. Even excluding the weight of things like the water used to boil the hopper egg, assuming stuff like pepper is actually negligable weight, and assuming converting meat to steaks results in removal of excess fat and bone, the ingrediants come to around 42, but the sandwich is only 20 in weight.

Obey the Lore, make it 2 sandwiches per combine

Knowing you won't be hungry for another 5 hours after you accidently eat one is a small consolation compared to the effort it took to make it.

I can just imagine Ngreth reading this and replying with:

"....or I could change the weight on the Sandwich to 40. Anyone with the means to make this is bound to be keeping it in a 100% weight reduction bag anyway, so raising the weight would fix the physics issue without harming the product"

Personally I'd be very happy if just the yeild on the Bristlebanes Challenge Meats was raised to 2 since Horse meat has been the toughest parts for me to get.

I agree the meat should have higher yeild at least. A majority of meat drops from the one zone that most player will not get to at all. There were very few horse meat on bazaar for 30k.

Already thought of that. The max wieght of any item is 20, so unless I'm much mistaken, you couldn't make it weigh 40 even if you wanted to.

Part of the reason I'm pushing this so much is that of the 7 I've made so far, 3 of them have already been accidentally eaten by the friends I gave them to. And thats despite me handing them over with the direst warnings about forgetting to force feed yourself. As for the one I made for my own use, its just sat in my bank. Unless its a high risk guild raid on a tough progression mob, I am too scared to get it out in case I forget it and eat it.

I've been using Bristlebanes platter for the past 2 years, and despite having a regime of banking them at the end of every session and loading them up again when I log back on (after forcefeeding myself first), I've still managed to eat about 20 of them over the years.

I'm not sure how you're figuring this.

Do you mean food item? There are lots of items that weigh more than 20.0 stones in game.

Some that come immediatey to mind:
                      Cracked Throwing Boulder 25.4 stones
A Huge Disenchanted Backpack 25.5 stones
A Large Disenchanted Backpack 25.5 stones
                      Trader's Satchel 25.0 stones

I am sure there are lots more.

At the moment, 25.5 is the max weight (it's stored as an 8-bit number, 0-255, then divided by 10 for the display.)

Precisely why I handed out 2 more warnings when I gave a few to guildies.

                          1) Make sure you have the food conservation AAs.

                          2) No reason to equip them during misc running around, etc. So I tell my guildies - To be safe, equip them during raids only.
I also gave them 2 stacks of MTPs as well.

I could care less about the lore to be honest. The main concern I have is even buying only a few of the components it's easy to spend upwards of 50k for these in addition to a LOT of farming.

I have metabo and force feed, but I still occasionally lose a platter. That sucks, but I can round up more crab legs and hero parts in a couple hours. Making a consumable quite this expensive in terms of plat and/or time is going to negate it's usefulness somewhat.

If I am looking at 50 grand and 20 hours per one challenge then, in all honesty, it's magelo food.
