New Sea Dragon Meat drops?

sea dragon steak were still available in bazaar a couple days ago and I don't think they can stealth change item to no drop while live, only a full patch can change item to no drop. The steak and all challenges still shows up on the buy lines.

I do know that Bristlebane's Challenge is becoming no drop as well as the meat challenge since it contains most of the rare stuff.

Sea Dragon Steaks and Meat CAN be sold in the bazaar. I just put one in a trader bag and set it up to test it. Working as intended.

You're sure? I tested it, too, on different characters, even, and they couldn't be sold in the baz (yah, I had the chars in the right sections).

Hokay, tested it again, on one of the same chars, and it worked this time. Probably a bug, not a conspiracy (editing my previous post).

Fayd may not be on an exact timer but i have a feeling kelorek is. She popped up on track and by the time i had changed my song set from ae to single target, 2 ppl had arrived in CS. As soon as she was dead, I was grats'd and they left the zone. This could explain why there are only 2 ppl on AB selling the meats as they know exactly when she will pop.

She's not. I hunt her a lot because she's an easy solo (well, it's easy except for the 50 wandering green adds that think it's fun to interrupt everything I cast) and she's only 1 zone over from the Guild Hall. Anyways, she is most definitely not an exact spawn since I popped back there every day for a week at the kill time once to check and see. That's the good news. The bad news is, she isn't on a 3 timer. She's on a 7 day timer. Randomized by the standard 12 hours it seems. This is what my research indicated when I searched the web for info on her and read several old guild websites (to think she was a raid mob once lol) and having caught her 3 weeks in a row one time all off by less than 12 hours I'm inclined to believe it.

On another note, what you guys consider a fair price for the meat? I killed her a few days and got a meat, 2 CoCW, a flawless diamond, some scales, a bio orb, and some crystallized sulfur. Naturally I tossed the 2 cloaks on my trader. Noticed the rest in my bag today and **** near destroyed it but decided to see what it was for before I did. Talk about a surprise when I found out what the meat was for. I put it on the trader for 100k, which works out to 20k per steak. Seems a fair price to me for an item that's the bottleneck for what is essentially +100 hp (over the 2nd best droppable food... I think....). On the other hand, I don't want to be one of those greedy little twerps that tries to screw people just because they can. We get enough of that at the gas pumps.

One thing about these quests in general. I don't mind the rare drops or even drops from rare mobs. Is there way to do these quests without harming any factions? I know the dragons are on COV faction, right? I am not sure about the treant in Elddar Forest, possible on Tunare? I haven't been there.

I know factions can be recovered but it would be nice if we don't have to worry about factions when trying to farm these items. Just a thought.

I never got any faction hits from any of the trees I killed in Eldaar Forest. I think you do get faction hits from the ones in the Ruins, but if you do it is just the "creatures of Takish Hiz" or whatever that everything else gives you (and they all already hate you anyway).

Kelorek`Dar is Yelniak and CoV, Faydedar is Ring of Scale - so I guess you could hurt only one faction (or go with whichever one is already hurt). On the plus side, if you kill Kelorek often enough, you'll have the faction to go buy the Coldain Pickles without a problem

I'm pretty sure the dryads have a faction, and from what I remember they start non-kos if you're a light race, so that's another one you could "hurt" but very few mobs are on it from what I recall.

I think all the rest are faction hits for things that already hate you.

The negative faction hit from killing Kelorek`dar or Wuoshi is absolutely miniscule (still Warmly after about 3 kills). I guess the other CoV dragons don't think too much of them....

I know its pretty much a shot in the dark, but is there a chance for a 4th source of meat in Skyshrine? I saw 2 mobs named An Elder Sea Wyrm. Could they drop it too? Being on COV faction I'm not condoning killing them.

BTW, I'm not requesting it drop off the mob(s), but it was just a mob I saw while I was going to visit Yelinak.

@Ngreth - didn't you aprove that sea dragon meat is a mandatory drop of Kelorek and that not droping it is a "bug" due to his long loot table?
I killed him this weekend and got 8 dump crap items and no sea dragon meat - petitioning ended in the standard request these indish GMs seam to cut and paste "sry bla bla we GMs can't help you. Fill out a bug report .... we can not guarantee that the devs will ...."

my sugestion - kick all these GMs - use the spared budget to accelerate some bug fixes like this one.

I hope Ngreth you can imagine how I felt, when I got this kelorek gimp on track after weeks of track camping CS - calling in a guildmate to kill mob and me staying there with track mule to block camp till engagement. 5 mins fighting and I said to myself - as far as I know my favoures - this ****ed 8 Lootbug will happen to me and when mob died - bang no sea dragon meat. It's the only item I lack for 3 combines. So either I invest 80 k on bazaar to buy one or another month of dump tracking.

I don't bother about nameds/mobs not droping if this is a normal camp with 15-18 mins respawn where I just can keep killing (like treant heart - 10h camp 3 drops) - but if they are on 3-7 days respawn and rush targets and suposed to drop - than I think a GM should supply the item that technic has prevented from droping.

Suggestion about the Kelorek bug. Until it is fixed don't camp the mob and expect the meat to drop. You will have a better chance of getting one off Fay in TD. Or if your guild is doing NToV, a dragon there also drops one.

I does suck when you get cheated out due to a bug but GM is not obilgated to offer missing item due to bug. It is in the EULA you agree to everytime you log on.

Just remember: one meat yeilds 5 steaks so you can split them with other meat camper if they are willing.

While I agree it sucks, really this is not the kind of bug to expect a "refund" from.

He still has a chance to drop it, he always has (it is still part of one of his tables that is not pushed off by the spells. I.E. this will will randomly drop 2 when the fix is in)

Even with the fix I will not say it will drop 100%, just that it will be MUCH more likely to drop (way more likely, to the point where it might as well be 100%...)

aye with kelorak, look at it this way you get to HOPE for BAD droprate inorder to get the meat .

namely look at it thusly, for hit loot table the "main drops" drop first aka bio orb crapy rouge only dagger etc, these drop always 100% of the time 3 no more no less. now he can drop anywheres from 2-4 spells, thats now 5-7 spaces taken outta his dropable inevtory which is 8 (oddly mobs dont put items in bags nor need to equip weapons to use them). Now there are the preexisting random "trash" drops, aka your flawless diamonds and other junk like that. and i belive that this partiular mob holds 1-3 spaces for these "trash" drops. thats now 6-10 items that are droping, now we tack on a 100% drop rate of the sea dragon meat at the end, which brings our grand total of items up to 7-11 items that he can be holding, but wait, there are only 8 ineveotry slots avialbe to Mobs, so anything after the 8th item goes *POOF* i do not exist on this mob.
Now you understand why i said to hope for ****ty drops on this mob cause thats what you need to get the meat to drop

I thought some of the DoN dragons (Vish and Yarlir) drop scales for progression and dropped more than 8. Also they always dropped the eyeball for the class specific item quest. It may be that in Velious the mobs have an 8 item drop cap, but that has since been removed. Could this change be added to Kelorek'dar?
