New strategies with veggies

I do the Tuna/Crab + 2 Egg Batter (Not the Clump of Dough combines) method as well. The only problem with it is you have to get the eggs. Easy for a forager in Western Wastes or if you have $$. There always seem to be Dragon/Wurm/Drake eggs in the Bazaar. It's just how much do you want to pay for them.

High level baking doesn't seem to hard. It's just tedious with all the pre-combines.

every couple years it seems people forget that basilisk eggs have a reeturn of 15 per egg on clumps of dough or batter. If you are level 45 or above basilisk eggs are VERY easy to get in the jagged pine caves. Kill Basilisk Genitors. they will drop UP TO 6 eggs at once. MUCH easier and faster than trying to forage or get dragon/drake eggs to drop, and tailors need the dragon/drake, but don't need the basilisk.

GoD baking is by far the easiest now. Veggies, go kill basalisks in LS or JPF for eggs. Buy meat from vendors. Some subcombines yes, but easy enough to do.

So far, my progression has been:
to 207:
beer battered crab rolls.

to 208:
Breaded storm salmon
Breaded giant halibut (not worth getting)
Breaded giant snapper (not worth getting: if you are in range to fish, you are inside aggro range of the mephits, only reason to get them is if you are hunting the mephits for the item for the gate necklace)

To 222:
Beer Battered Hynid Steaks
Beer Battered Cragbeast steaks

To 242 (current skill):
Beer Battered Tuna Souffles
Beer Battered Crab Souffles

Projected recipes from here:
Mephit Pie (can't get enough phoenix eggs).
Mephit sandwiches (about 3 stacks worth of meats saved).
Boar chops (about 1/2 stack worth)
Jord meat pies (about 2 stacks worth).
Anaconda/Griffon melts (about 2 stacks worth)
Misty Thickets.

My experience fishing results in a lot more crab than tuna. Depending on the trip, ratios can be 4:1 to 3:2 (crab:tuna).

Thanks for the suggestion on basilisk hunting grounds. Before they revamped Lavastorm, I'd go there with my druid and track down the suckers and kill them, and it was fine, there were plenty of them and I was usually the only one in the zone. Now, the zone is very crowded and they've added KOS mobs and "invisible" walls all over the place.. not to mention they greatly reduced the number of basilisks in the zone. Glad to know there are other places to go for the eggs.

Go to right in fron tof the entrance to the goodie camp at least 5 to 6 basalisks wander there.
