Ice Cream -- observations, impressions, discussion

You need:

1 Folded Sheet of Enchanted Steel (I think this is still limited, in that only Humans can do this combine and only at the Qeynos Cultural Forge).

Anyone can forge the Folded Sheet of Enchanted Steel. My druid made one using a Bazaar forge. Here's what you need:

- A 49+ level Enchanter to enchant three Large Bricks of High Quality Ore

- Any Blacksmith to forge the 3 Large Bricks Of Enchanted Ore into a Block of Enchanted Ore (in any forge with a Flask of Water, trivial at 32)

- Any Blacksmith to forge the Block of Enchanted Ore into a Enchanted Folded Sheet Metal (in any forge with a Flask of Water and a Smithy Hammer, trivial at 44)

Only humans can make these combines in the cultural Freeport and Royal Qeynos Forges. Anyone else can do the combines in ordinary forges.

Any one know if the ice cream churn can be turned in for a token? I plan to make mine today(crosses fingers) and it would be nice to be able to store it in token form instead of having the container.

Last time I checked, you still could not turn in churns for tokens. I believe it was a week or so ago, and there has not been a game patch since last time I checked.

I believe that only weight reducing containers can be made into tokens.

I was successful with my first churn (bazaar-bought components). I then vendor farmed in SH and PoK and found....2 ices. The salt took about an hour for 3 using Bobo (my bear). Oh, well. I have a couple of pieces....

I love playing with my churn. I too, wish Ice of Velious was more available, and kelp salts could/should be on the othmirs in CS. Still NO DROP, though, as there are several other tradeskill items tagged NO DROP, and vendor sold.

Smoothies would be another item.

As for other flavors, Jumjum would be good. I have made the Kiola ice cream, even though it is combined with other things to make a multi flavor ice cream.
FINALLY, a use for that darn Timorous Coconut we keep foraging in Timorous Deep. Just need to make them Stackable! *begs prettily for stackable coconuts*

That's what Ice of Velious was originally used for, by the way.

Quite frankly, ice cream sucks. Crap stats, so expensive no one is going to make it for roleplay purposes, and generally a flop. All it seems to have done is jack up the prices on the 30ish mage water pet research components to the point where you have to either be a twink, or luck out on a drop, to have a chance at finding it.

Ice of Velious

I thought kelp salts were a pain ... until I started trying to farm Ice of Velious. AEing the bandits in Paludal got me two, then no more for many hours. Hunted in High Keep for an hour or so, got none. Hunted in EK for a few hours, none. Guess I'll go try woolly mammoths.

A few hours mammoth hunting - no ice.

Harder to find than haze panther eyes. Sheesh.

I checked my mage and joy, found 18 Ice of Velious that he had ratholed. Then I checked bazaar and found 2 more... selling for 2k each. Hmmm... Ice Cream or vendor my Ice of Velious? Desicions, decisions.....

French Fries made out of Rajukan Patatoes (I wish), Shakes made out of Ice cream from Ice of Velious , With a mammoth sandwich (aka EQ Burger).



Time to Tinker some home-trainers and brew some vitamine Shakes!

Rock Salt Confirmation

I can confirm that after 12/15 patch, kelp salts <no drop> are no longer used in the combines for the ice cream. Rock salts, purchased off the baking vendors in Abysmal Sea is used now instead. Also, although no recipe is listed, you can purchase no drop dried vanilla beans and use them in the flavoring of your ice cream.

Just use the Find command to locate the three baking vendors. I bought Rock Salt off the vendor by himself to the left of the other two vendors. Please note that the Vanilla Beans are No Drop, which means my little halfling will have to run his own hairy feet over there to pick up some.

BTW, did I mention that I love post-patch vendor mining? I found an Icy Gelidran Hide on a vendor last night!

Finally got a chance to make some Ice Cream.. berry ice cream and berry ice cream cake and chocolate golanda ice cream as well as choclate ice cream cake.. had fun! Ice of Velious is scarce and only have 11 BUT Thanks to Irda on Emarrs Server after 25 tries she made the ice cream churn.. will say the ice cream is fun to make but sure not worth all you have to go thru to get the churn and ingredients.. but still yummy as me loves ice cream *giggles*
