Sorry, I just can't think of ice cream now when its' cold out. But....I wonder if you can make deep-fried ice cream? Anyone try? That's some GOOD stuff!

There are two now so go ahead (FV). I like ice cream but not enough to purchase a hide for 15k for a possibility of an ice cream churner. I'd be too scared to do the combine.

I have nothing but stupid stuff to spend my plat on, I am "sitting on the fence" as far as EQ goes atm, and I have so much plat that I can't spend it cause I've already bought everything I want and twinked everything I can twink......

But alas I am on BB and none are for sale here that I have seen =(

If you are on D Ro, I have a few hides.... I have my churn finally ... I think the first on D Ro.... I agree about the kelp salts.... there are bags of sea salt and salt shards in the game already and the you could easily add kelp salts to merchants in Cobaly Scar (it would make sense).... the Ice of Velius has been missing in every zone I have tried... none dropping in over 2 days, so if anyone has suggestions....

I actually found 3 hides for sale about a week and a half ago on BB for 500pp each, the one thing I just can't seem to find are the tentacles, although I saw 2 for 10k each, that's just too far out of my price range.

I've never seen a tentacle or a boot gasket for sale. Apparently the icy hides are common if you're fighting on the icy (harder) side of Riftseekers.

Ask someone nice, and level 70, in one of the 'higher end' guilds on your server. I was given 10 for free so far just by asking some friends to save them for me if they get the chance. I don't plan to farm 30 tentacles, though. o.O

I got my churn off of a guildie for free, since we farm riftseekers as it is and get the pieces easily. While I find the Kelp Salts annoying to go out and get, I find trying to get any Ice of Velious to be almost impossible. The only luck I have had thusfar is running to Highkeep and check the merchants there, and can usually pick up about 5 per day.

Observation: I made a variation of different items from chocolate ice cream (i.e. I made some floats, crunches, cakes, etc) and all of them say they can be further broken down into another recipe (potentially better stat food?).

Another thread mentioned that Rock Salt had been added to a GoD vendor on the Test Server. It would be great if the Rock Salt has been added to replace the Icy Gelidran Hide (a rock salt and ice mixture is what's used in real ice cream churns for cooling).

I'm hoping someone sat the ice cream churn designer down and explained to them how real ice cream is made. Salt is mixed with ice and is then packed around the metal container holding the liquid ice cream mixture -- it is not added to the ice cream mixture -- to cool the liquid mixture down so it will solidify. Maybe they're removed the Kelp Salts completely. [What a rich fantasy life I lead! ]

Not that I have attempted to make ice cream yet, but I think Bag of Sea Salt foraged in Oasis of Marr would be another alternative... I like it when they have more than one method to achieve the desired product such as a gazillion different combines for Celestial Essence, or how many different meats to make Patty Melts?
