hehe made over 200 10 lb meat pie combines. sold and given to guiild and wife a lot of pie now. made it from 195 to 204. never had 2 skill ups close together. just stopped watching it looked at the combines after a while. 8 item combines are not my friend. all those sub combines.
mtps sell for 10pp each alright on my server so i am going back to them. less subcombines and less farming. guildie gave me a stack of brownie parts from her genocide scemes and got a stack of fruit and over 2 stacks of veggies. got over 2 stacks of woven mandrake off vendor for about 5pp. that saved me so much money.

Bah, 195 combines of MTP shoudl ahve cost at most 220pp, if that. I generally burn around 2-400 combines a day, 100 when I log on, 100 when I log off and more if I'm boired in between. I've spent around 1500 to date on over 2500 combines (200-201 too 421 combines, I'll never forget that) and I could make that back in 10 stacks of picnics sold. And my mule sells around 4 stacks a night.

Other than that, picnic sub-combines anren't bad at all, I just keep what I need on hand and whip up teh parts for around 300 combines at a time.

kk now i have done another 20ish meat pies and around 360 picnics. lded and just went to bed last night with 40 left to go i think. now at an amazing 210. 800 combines for the last 17 points. almost 50 combine per skillup. urg.
its ok. getting together the stuff for picnics is easy. make the 200 picnic baskets and beer before hand. leave the mixing bowl open as i go. do 20 or 40 whichever i have room for then refill. works pretty well. running out of my vendor mined woven mandrake though so that will slow me down. bound at forge in rivervale now hehe. bought ore and couldn't move last time. was a trip trying to get a sow or drop bag and walk, pick bag up, drop bag and walk, ... after 10lb pie i love mtps. fewer subcombines and all are multiplier steps. no filet bear or fillet in cream one yield subcombines. works great. less alchemy components to buy hehe.

You were lucky imho. Did 800 combines this weekend on MTPs and got exactly 7 skill incs. Thats more then 100 combines per inc. I would call it just the normal insanity of tradeskills.

                  baking mtp's

to make MTP's i would recomend you to do it in Shadow Haven, cuz u can buy ALL the components there and at a good price if u have done the faction quests... for them that don't know where to buy the jumjum stalk it's sold by a halfling ikn the little area, downwards in the local called The Lost Turnip.

Whenever i have the patient to be doing MTP's i allways go there.

And btw, it's easier to get there than to rivervale.

MTP's are the way to skill up in the 200s. I was messing around with Halas pies and Jaggedpine combines in the 210s when I switched to MTPs, and compared to those recipes, MTPs were faster, easier, and cheaper. I also turned a profit on them, which you can't say for Jaggedpine stuff. Overall in about 5-6 hours I went from the mid 210s to 250.

Tip: work in PoK, not shadow haven. PoK is a tradeskill dreamland, especially for MTPs. Just buy a bunch of Jumjum when you get started and stuff it in the bank.

Heh. All my mules, save mr bazaar mule, are halfers, so they're all parked at the bank in RV. My baker stays in Thurg, I just hop on the mule if I need more jumjum. Thurg is nice because there's almost no one there when I'm around. I buy my rennett in PoK, assuming I ever run low, since I normally load up 20 stacks onto my baker at a time.

finally saw 2 skillups in a row. on the last 80 something combines i got 2 skillups in the middle. at 212 now and done for a bit. i am a wizard. bound at forge in rivervale because i can't move with the ore to make the boning and have knowledege gate memmed. works really well cause i can scan for port request while i run. now averaging 40 combines per skillup. that means in another 1520 combines i will hit 250. thats only 8 seesions since i go 200 at a time. bet it wont work like that though.

fianlly broke. have over 2 toolboxes of halas pies left over. all my toons will use it for a while.

I am using Justice Fruit Pies for my skillups. They have taken me from 199 to 232 so far and I'm rather happy with them. They sure beat the solstice robes I was doing for tailoring (no subcombines at all if you buy the ce's and dough in the bazaar, which I like to do because newbies tend to sell lots of both to make their money armor/weapon upgrades.) The stats aren't bad either, I know quite a few rogues who like them for the dex stat. Good luck

did 600 mtp combines on my own and gave all but 4 stacks i made to the guild. when i went to pok i would port people for a bit and make back most of the moeny i spent so it was ok.

porting ran dry for a bit and got down to 280pp in bank which isn't enough for a run i do so had to sell the last 4 stacks. then got a ot of porting so had 1k in the bank by the end. then i bought some more velium bars and back down to 600ish hehe.

friend was doing justice fruit pies for his cousin so he came with everything but the frosting and dough and i made 9 stacks of attempts at justice fruit pies. total of 780 combines this weekend without subcombines and got 26 skill points. so happy i am at 30 combines per skill point instead of 40 now. a 200 run of pie for 5 points is painful. nothing really helped though. halas pies and mtps and justice fruit pies are all about the same skillup rate for me. all with 255 int.

Honestly, I think anybody who does MTPs for sake of skillups is insane, hehe. Is more hassle than it's worth really. So many easier recipes can get you all the way to 250.

If you're 55+ or have finished a PoJ trial, recommend you grab a fishing pole, lots of bait, and head to Plane of Storms. Storm Salmon + jug of sauces = storm slamon fillet, trivial at 202, and easily the simplest recipe that trivs higher than 191.

I was shooting for 200 back before you could get into PoS just by being 55, hehe, so my path from 191 to 200 was various recipes depending on what I could manage to get. Mostly buttered crawdads, since my fishing was much better than my foraging, and FD fishing was pretty easy in PoN (this is how I dinged 200 fishing too, hehe). Also did storm salmon fillets (when someone got me fish), pixie powder cinnesticks(ding 200 baking was on this one!), justice fruit pies, candied cockroackes, holy cake (yes, realize was not very cost effective, hehe, but got good resist food from it), and a few JPF casseroles (veggie, anaconda, griffon).

If you're going all the way, recommend going to JPF getting all the griffon and anaconda meat you can (and if you can forage, plant shoots) and making casseroles, will take you all the way to 250 a lot more cheaply and with A LOT less combines than MTPs. Heck, once casserole dish made (one time thing), only subcombine is noodles.
