I have made sure it works within 5 levels of the level it is intended for and it does.

I am willing to talk to maddoc about it more, but because we were forced to reverse the changes to the resist system that actually would have made this potion work better, we may be stuck.
So are those resist changes ever going live? It's 3 or 4 months since they were supposed to go live.
I tried combining Celestial Solvent, a Raw Rough Hide, Rough Hide Solution and a Skinning Knife. But the result was such an oxymoron, it opened a rift into another universe. I fell through into one of Nodyin's spreadsheets and was slain by a misplaced decimal.

      well.

      Players objected

Despite the fact that it made player stuff land better, including items

it also made NPC spells land better, so NPC's were actually successfully landing spalles on players... so it was a "horrible nerf" to all players to allow NPC's to actually land spells on players. (ok I am paraphrasing... but that is the gist of the complaint)

This makes me sad. I really would like NPC casters to land spells more often. They're completely imbalanced to the point of silliness right now. I'd much prefer to fight casters most of the time, because they do ZERO damage so long as they have mana.

The only way most NPC's can come close to doing spell damage is to dispel, and if that's the worst we have to fear, it's pretty bad.

Think there's ever any chance of it coming back?

The change in the resist formula would affect 8 years worth of content... if it's not done without a LOT of regression testing, it could imbalance the game the other way to the point of being unplayable.

If it were possible to apply the modified resist formula to newer spells and effects, but leave the older spells and effects using the old method, it would be possible to bring things into line bit by bit, but such a big-bang change could well be disastrous.

Yeah. It is tough. It is very possible it will be re-visited, but I am not sure.

Spellcaster NPC's in some parts of TBS are going to be a bit nastier, we came up with a trick
