Crying On The Combine - What Happened to Alchemy?

I did alchemy till max level back when lvl 65 was max and OOW had just come out. I just started back on The Combine and saw that pretty much everything that I know about alchemy is completely gone. What happened? Is there a link to a thread somewhere that will tell me other than that its completely foreign and the trivials are waaay higher now?
