First of all let me say that I didn't post this "exploit" so everyone would run home on lunch to buy them. In fact, I was quite surprised and amused to see the lengths people went to "beat the nerf". But I also can't admit to knowing how fast they would fix it.
Really? Let me point out the tailoring "exploit" that was allowed to continue for days while the smithing one was nerfed within hours not because of tradeskill imbalance, but money!
Ethereal. Went live with a >250 trivial that was so easy, too easy to make. Smithing was nerfed immediately only because the tempers were selling back for 10x the cost of supplies. Were the merchants with curing agent supplies depopped also? (Yes, I know there was more than one, but really, how many merchants sell paeala sap? It was doable.) Result was dozens of GM tailors the next week whose economic impact is, in my opinion, far greater than say a bunch of clerics running around with a dozen imbues.
But my point is the same that Splunge made. They had weeks to fix this. Maybe instead of reading boards they should read feedbacks. And what really boggles my mind is this was the SECOND time they made this mistake! Did any one look at the single cast spells before adding the mass ones? Copying data from an existing template can be risky. There comes a chance of replicating errors present in the original. But they do that all the time with armor sets. And in this case the template has been live for months and, in fact, fixed for this same exact problem.
So what is the solution? Feedback? Polygraphs for people on Test? At this point I am absolutely boggled.
And they screwed up again. The mass imbue spells are NOT deity restricted. If you're the right class you can scribe any of them.
Everyone should know by now that the devs roam all the major boards, including this one. Posting any sploit will guarantee a nerf. Can't say I didn't see it coming.
