Gameplay wise, it is unwise. Many people will distribute phat lootz from their most recent raid amongst their groupmates while in the safety of Pok. they have a legitimate reason for needing /rand.

If you have enough money you can drive the honest operators out of buisness. Just bet double each time you lose, go back to your original bet each time you win. Be warned, it can take some very deep pockets if you get a long losing streak.

But personally I'd rather see the random message filterable seperately.

The Martingale system (double your bet each time you lose, go back to betting 1 unit when you win) only works on a casino with no upper limit to bets. This describes exactly zero casinos in RL or EQ.

A second requirement would be that you must begin with an infinite amount of money.

In the real world, the Martingale system remains an excellent way to lose large, rather than moderate, amounts of money when betting against the house.

But the best solution would be to simply have a filter to turn off RNG results - then you turn off RNG, ooc and shout and "presto!" no more casino spam problems.

I need to try that out one day... though i dont entirely get it...
First the guy needs to have a really really crappy setup (odds in your favor)
Second you need to bet a certain amount of times in a row so you can cancel our your losses without money being moved... Ahhh yesss.... tee hee!

We generally use PoK to divvy up raid loot, so I'd rather that /rand stayed enabled there.

But casinos do get *really* annoying ... although it varies as to whether its the advertising spam or the /rands that cuase the problem.

A filter (throw it to a minimized window) would be much appreciated, or the ability to filter it off (via the options window buttons).

The house ALWAYS win, the only way you would win is to get *lucky* and bet big..win..and leave. I liked playing in casinos, I gamble in RL all the time. So I decided to start one, the paragraph up top is what I say. I've made 25k in a week. Casinos aren't scams, you don't HAVE to play them. If you choose to play them then word to the wise - quit while you're ahead. I've seen so many people win 2k and keep playing only to lose 4k (or smaller numbers, 200 to -500..same principle).

Doing Casino in /auction once every 3-4 min is the same thing as someone selling there wears every 3-4 min. It's just different context. He's selling good, I'm selling a game.
