I didn't ever say that a 250 tailor WOULD do it, I said that customers, if there was certification, would REQUIRE it. Guess that means the customers are out of luck, aren't they. Guess that means more complaints on this board and more abuse for high end tradeskillers. I think this is... a bad idea. Do you really want to be bothered by people that want wu's all the time? I bet you don't.
Why would people demand certification of grandmastery in a skill, were such to exist, for a combine that they do not now insist a grandmaster perform? How will allowing people with (effective) 250 in a skill to certify this make the average player more ignorant than he/she already is? If you never hear anyone /auc "Want to hire 250 tailor for Wu's combine." why would you expect to hear /auc "Want to hire CERTIFIED 250 tailor for Wu's combine."

Sidenote -- On the druid ICH: it can never, not matter how many HP it lands for, heal more than 75% of the target's max HPs. since most CHs land when their target is above 25% health, this has little impact on an xp group. However in a raid, noone (especially the MT) wants to count on that heal landing at or above 25%. Example: Druid in a CH chain casting Mending of Tunare. due to a lucky (for the mob) quad, the MT has 10% HPs when ICH lands. Warrior is healed to 85% health. CH timing is now off for every heal which follows, because timing of the CH chain depends on every CH bringing the MT to 100%.

And also, what really would be the actual demand for low trivial items? It comes up so seldomly that it is actually not that big a deal at all.

I suppose the only lower trivial items I see are for Fleeting Quivers and the components for Ornate armor quest. But even the demand for the latter is not much. People who can pick up Ornate can afford the very small amount of plat required to buy it pre-made in the Bazaar. And people who are lower level who spend 3 weeks collecting the fleeting quiver components almost always require a 250 Tailor anyways because it is such a pain to get the HQ lion skin and they really dont' want to waste their time and are willing to spend plat on it.

Ok, I am at a loss here. I guess my server must just have a totally different game runing that you guys. I play on Xev and consistantly see folks asking for low triv combines. And in almost EVERY instance they are asking for 200+ skill.

If there was a certification of tradeskills, it would end up being JUST LIKE REAL LIFE!! Folks go out and require the certification for menial tasks. They do not and will not research the material to discover that the item trivs at 20 or that the task could be accomplished by a trained pigeon, they simply require the certification. I see this on a daily basis in my line of work. I am fully qualified in what I do, yet miss out on jobs because I don't have the piece of paper.

We are playing a game and talking to faceless, anonymous folks. First off, let me reitterate the word GAME. Secondly, I am 250 in only a single tradeskill, 190-200 in everything else. I get plenty of work doing combines and selling goods even though there is a 1750 member wandering PoK advertising. Why? Cause I have a reputation of being honest and fair. I even got the occasional job from uber guild members that definately have access to 1750 members, simply because they heard of me or my rep. I see no reason to instigate yet another hoop to jump through for tradeskillers.

            Mmm...Cigarskunk, just so you know...

Nothing has changed with the trophies.

The skills with a Trophy that is a skill restricted combine are Alchemy, Tinkering, and Poison Making. It never went to the other tradeskills. Considering that they are class/race restricted skills, it should be pretty obvious *why* they are restricted too. (I know a certain High Elf Mage who makes fireworks ...) Remember, I did a Grandmaster Smithing Hammer at 160 Smithing. :P And I tried a Tailoring one at ~135 for fun (failed of course).

Since the bazaar, I have never seen anyone go looking for someone to make low-grade junk combines. You just go to the bazaar and buy it super cheap. Even if someone did approach a 250 skill person for Wu's, do you really think they will be bringing all the components for a quick hit of the combine button? No, they ask "How much?".

People look for GM tradeskillers for hard combines.

The only thing that certification would do is to make it so that someone asking for a GM skill person actually GOT one.

I don't see any portion of the scenario that Kizent is hypothesizing coming true.

I hit 250 brewing. I don't brew for anyone anymore. When I run out of wyvern stingers, I think I am retiring from the tainted avalanche ale business. If someone knows I am a brewer, and I am near a barrel, yes, I will press combine. I know several other tradeskillers who are as grumpy as me or more so. 250 smith with +15% item? He wants 10k per combine. It is his way of saying "go away little creature." If there was some "certified tradeskill" gizmo, I would never bother to make it, nor bother to trade in my old trophy for it. Will I bother to get other trophies? Heck NO. I have a shared bag in the bank of geerloks that I share among my characters. When I get several other tradeskills to 220+, I sure won't be bragging about it. I know a couple of tradeskillers (mostly 250 tailors) who get all defensive if they get some tell from a stranger to make some combine. "Who told you" followed by "why did they say that." The effort to get to 250 burns so many folks out that they quickly lose interest in pressing combine for anyone (including themself - I buy kaladims and grobbs in the bazaar because it is less hassle than making it for myself).

If you were somehow able to get "certifications" in the game, I would never get one. Why? I don't want the sort of customer that would demand it. I play this game for fun, it is not a job. If you want to cater to folks asking for combines, go ahead, the market is all yours. There is not enough profit in the business of pressing combine for random strangers.

On the healing issue... In my little sig picture below, you will see a message of a crit heal with (improved) lay hands. If your guild raids a lot, and hits Tormax (or harder) class targets, you may want to nudge your paladins to get improved lay hands: those 10k insta heals can save a raid or 2.
