My best pruchase to date was a drop of pure rain. Under 8pp from a vendor, sold it in the bazaar for 10k.

Lately Ive gotten into the habit of vendor mining before a patch, so last night I head and I found 3 swirling shadows, 6 windstones, 2 chunks of condensed shadow, plus 2 sets of Brown Chitin Leg(plates, guards?) for a mere 9p apiece. They sold last night for 500p each.

I also routinly buy pelts and spiderling silks in the bazaar if they are cheap enough, downgrade the pelts if not already LQ and make threads from the silks and youve got leather padding, which I sell for 23p per. If I spend 10p or so on materials Im still making a hefty profit and it all adds up.

In the last week Ive made about 6kp just vendor mining and making padding.

Grandmaster Miner

I've made my living, and paid for my trade skills, by mining vendors. Some of my successes:

Velium and acrylia: you can sell the small pieces, small bricks and large bricks for more than a vendor charges for them (assuming indiferent faction and 104 charisma). I've bought and sold hundreds of these. Small pieces of acrylia cost 6 gp and sell for more than 35 pp in the Bazaar!

Royal Kromrif Blood: Bought it for 8 gp. Sold it for 2000 pp. Did this twice. This extends to anything that someone needs for a quest. Know your quest items, especially for popular quests, and you can make a killing. Black marble cost 157 pp from a vendor, but nobody in the Bazaar will sell it for less than 700, and it always sells.

High end food: I have bought Misty Thicket Picnics, Justice Fruit Pies, Halas Meat pies and more from vendors. The real good stuff, though, is the supplies. Jord meat and mephit meat are about 1 pp each, and can be used for skilling up since the recipes that use them are trivial over 250. Lots cheaper than making picnics. Swamp rat parts work the same way, and blood raven parts, and they sell for about 6 gp each. I even just recently bought dragon meat from a vendor! For 4 pp!

Centi Warhammers: I've bought about fifty of these from vendors for 76 pp and resold them for more than 200 pp. The same principle can be extended to many weapons and armor components. I found one day that some uninformed fool had sold a Fishbone Earring (!!!) to a vendor! It cost less than 100 pp, if I recall correctly. This vendor underpricing applies mostly to tradeskill-made gear, and stuff with focus effects.

Silks of all stripes: I've never lost money buying silks of any kind. I personally use them for tailoring, but they sell quickly, and for spider/spiderling silks, the profit margin is from five to ten times what you pay. The Commonlands merchants will often have large supplies, except when I go shopping there.

Trade Skill Components: I've bought stacks of hopper hides (once found 13 flawless hopper hides on one merchant, and another time I found 8 high quality brute hides in one stack), and more pelts, tea leaves, foraged components, special ores and baking parts than I can remember. I've bought 120 laquered opals for 4 sp each, woven mandrake for 6 gp, leather padding for 4 sp, and so on. I've made dozens of planar steins, and I've never been to any of the planes. I just buy my valor crystals in the Bazaar (or from merchants, now) and tainted planar essences from PoK vendors and use them when I have enough.

In short (no jokes, please!), there's a lot of money to be made, if you're lucky and attentive. Merchant mining was the first skill I grandmastered, and my trophy is a big pile of platinum pieces to pay for my other tradeskills. Good luck, and happy hunting!

Whenever my low level alts needs some plat for spells, I go to the Bazaar and buy high-level spells from traders and resell to vendors. There are a number of spells for sale at 5 - 20pp that sell for 37pp to a vendor.

My first big hit was in West Freeport; after a brewing run, I was checking the area vendors just to see what they all had in stock. I noticed someone had sold an Opal Encrusted Stein to the vendor. I hadn't yet bought any, but knew I should, so I was happy to find one there for 3pp and change.

Bought it, but the vendor still had one. I needed two, so what the heck.

The vendor STILL had them in stock. And had them in stock when I finally left, about sixty steins later and with every bag almost full of them.

Less than 200pp to buy them; sold most of them for 40-50pp each. That financed the first couple hundred points of Jewelcrafting...

Yep. I worked on Brewing last night in PoK, and sold 36 Old Tujim's Fierce Brews to the vendor next to the brew barrel after I was done. (Went from 120 to 126, and only had 2 failures out of 38 attempts)

For about a month or so I sold all of my foraged berries and fruit in the bazaar for 2 pp. Everyday one particular toon would buy all I had at night, and resell them on her toon for 5pp. Apparantly she was making money doing this, as was I lol.

Agreed. I found a Shadowscream Bracer on one of the Dwarves in the Smithing building once and thought about buying it to put on my Barbarian Warrior alt. If I hadn't been low on cash at the time, I probably would have.

Funny, I was making halas meat pies (for friends but I always make extra to drop in the bazaar) and thought "I bet I can sell the precombines instead"

So did a stack worth of everything needed to do HMPs.

I sold them, probably a "bit" faster than I would the pies but it was at a break even point compared to pies (and more slots :P) so really didn't seem worth it. Creamy fillet of Wolf and Mammoth sold fastest, not surprisingly (and I priced them higher than the other two, yes).

Sold jum jum spiced beer as well, took ages to shift for me.

Guess it's a server thing.
