I'm in almost the same boat Splunge. The only non-bought non-self-done pieces of equipment (grabbing parts for friends to combine don't count) I have are Bangle of Disease Warding and my epic... I'm probably more 80% dumpster diving, 15% formatting my dived goods into something more practical via tradeskills.

          Vendor mining, My hits

Thought I would share a couple of my discoveries while checking merchants in SH while running around with LFG on.

I found 10+ acrylia reinforced masks on a vendor, Bought on the cheap for about 2pp I thnk, was a while ago, sold them after equiping all of my alts with one for 20pp

Same time same vendor also had a bunch of acrylia studded masks that I bought for copper on the plat and sold for around 10pp each.

Recently I found a BUNCH of the Opal encrusted steins, the +25 cha ones on a vendor in Dwarf area near kiln, I found these in the same area 2 times now, second time there were so many I ran out of bank slots on me AND my mules and still did not buy them all!! I believe they sold to me for about 3pp and change with hi faction and cha at 130+, I turn around and sell them in bazaar for 20-50pp each depending on what other vendors are selling for!

I have found the occasional stacks of misty picnics, meat pies, and such on vendors, I am at a loss on the pricing logic used for some of the player made stuff, the above sold from vendor for dirt compared to what it will sell for in bazaar, other items seem to sell for more then worth from vendor. Heck, I think the opals alone cost 20pp from vendors and steins made with them can be bought back for next to nothing.

Hehe, really jerks my buddies chains when I share news of my latest discovery with them!

              Vendor diving

              Funny thing...

I was staying at the home of my parental units for a bit fixing up their 100-year-old house against the coming winter, when I introduced my 71-year-old mother to Everquest.

I think the highlight of her week was when she found muffins for sale on a vendor. She was so excited! It was adorable!

I personally love vendor diving. I'm on Bertox and find the closest vendors to raid exit points (PoT, etc) have decent stuff. I've also noticed the two vendors in the horse stables in the Bazaar are worth browsing. My theory is people are selling stuff in preparation to buy a horse, but I could be wrong.

Being of the scaled variety, I could kiss the person who brought Fuzzles to the Bazaar, even if they do cost a little more!

              Take care all,
              -Clawe
