Daylight Savings Time

I know that I do enjoy the extra hour of daylight especially during the summer but right now I think it sucks. There should be a national holiday scheduled to coincide with DST. My body is refusing to adjust to the time change. Can we say silent reading day in my classroom?

My silly daughter has it all mixed up...instead of sleeping in later...since tho the clock says it's 8:30 it FEELS like 7:30 so she shouldn't want to get up until 9:30...she's decided now to get up at 7:30 when *I* know it's really 6:30. WTF?!?! I'm gonna have a talk with this child and attempt to explain that it's time to SLEEP LATE *grumble* Tho...since she's only 2 it might be easier for me to just go to bed earlier than try to argue...hard to argue when someone only responds "NO!" or "CHICKEN!" *sigh*

Last I heard, many countries don't do it, Arizona seems to still be on the map without it.

The few countries that do do it are trying to stay in sync with the US.

It's just a 200 year old tradition that has far passed its time... and is costing millions of dollars in lost revenue from 1 out of 10 people in the US showing up late for work.

Heck, the people that show up on time are less productive too, as their bodies attempt to adjust to the fact that they are at work already, when they are used to be just waking up.

Because if we ditch it now, we're going to be plunged into chaos every time that Daylight Savings Time would have happened, as millions of Windows XP users are thrown into confusion by the automatic changing of their PC clocks. Forwards will circulate with instructions on how to stop this from happening, most of which will quickly degenerate into instructions purporting to disable the DST feature but which in reality will alter important operating system files, and then which will eventually include attachments that supposedly can be installed to do this automatically but which will actually install the lastest back door viruses, etc, etc, etc....

Yes, I'm in Indiana and we don't have Daylight Savings Time (except for areas near to large or largish cities that do).

I had that same problem...

Then I decided to cover my window with a blanket, and tack it up on the wall "over" the window. This worked so well I decided to patent it, after some work making the "blanket" able to move out of the way when I wanted to look out of the window I even came up with a name.

"Blankets for Windows"

No one bought them though... maybe my price was too high, someone said something about "Curtains", but I dunno about those.

Find a problem, use the most roundabout system to solve it, and then charge twice as much, when something else works better and cheaper. Of course, when it doesn't sell, Microsoft includes it on every product sold and manipulates its other products to work only with the new one.

Therefore, Delfontes, all you need to do is invent a window that will ONLY work with your blanket, and then force every home supply store to stock it and every contractor in your area to install ONLY your windows. That way, you win twice. The Microsoft solution at work.

Arizona is a country?!?!? When did that happen? Did country music lovers overthrow the western music lover controlled government and then declare themselves to be a new nation? Will they send troops to help the oppressed people of Quebec liberate themselves from the tyrantical rule of the Canadian government. And most importantly, will this interfer with that wonderful iced tea they export to the US???

Arizona's nationhood aside though, what's the big deal? You knew it was happening, it's not as though Fox News suddenly interupted the war coverage to break the news that we were losing an hour - plan for it ahead of time.

Besides, this is an EQ message board - is everyone complaining about DST trying to claim that they've NEVER stayed up a few hours later then they had intended to thanks to EQ?
