chace for some roleplaying?
Me I'd be mad if i was a troll, made cos its my home, I'd try and kill and raid the city as often as possible and thre are some pretty big trolls out there quite capable of doing it.
I want to start a troll and be there to raid Grobb on its opening day.
for a long time the froglock newbies wont have guards to run to.
If they did the same to Kaladim my home town i'd freek too but I'd also assist in Raid on the city and make it part of the experiance.
You never know you may force the froggies out to a new zone this may be part of a long term goal.
Someone said I hope they never make Kelethin their home town, Well with my wood elf chr i must admit i hate it too.Ok ok I'll shut up now.

Now, I'm a Dark Elf and honestly, I probably wouldn't care
I mean, I love Neriak and all but, I spend like NO time there. I'm ally in all parts of Shadowhaven and Thurgadin and Skyshrine (all cities with better tradeskill setups) and I'm never accosted by beggars (especially not in Skyshrine
). I don't do any cultural tradeskilling so that wouldn't be a loss. Heck, anyplace I can buy batwings for 1 silver and peridot for 10.5pp....is HOME
I for one wish they'd do this kind of thing much more often. I mean, like Cantatus said, the world hasn't changed at all except for expansions. Whatever happened to the curse on Rallos Zek's creations (Trolls, Ogres, Giants) being lifted as was hinted before PoP was released?
Before Jaz, I was a Barbarian and the sentiment remains. HALAS FOR LIFE, but I never went back really after I left at level 5. So home was wherever I could sneak behind an NPC and buy/sell without having to fight my way out
I guess I'm not the sentimental sort.

Burn Kelethin!!!!!!
Sure, I was born there but I was better liked in Qeynos and Surefall Glade than I was in my "Home" city until after Velious was discovered. Then there's the issue that Kelethin has the worst guards of any starting city. You almost need to start running for them at full health to make sure they react and kill the mobs chasing you before you die.
I'd also love to see that den of iniquity commonly refered to as Freeport get cleaned up. Quite a few of my formative years were spent with a band of rebels fighting the corrupt militia forces and aiding the good clerics and paladins of Marr in a failed attempt to reclaim the east and west sectors of the city.

I don't mind. One of my oldest and most beloved, if least played, characters is a Troll, and this has actually been interesting for him--it gave me a chance to throw some fresh RP fodder into the mix.
Most of my characters are Dark Elves, though, and I've actually been *waiting* for some sort of invasion of Neriak. It's about time! I've always wished the world was a little more dynamic--wildfires burning out forested zones, invasions of others, new things appearing in zones and old things changing. It's more realistic IMO.
I think we're seeing a lot of shocked reactions to the Grobb/Gukta thing because we're just not used to having change to "major" zones. (And the last heavily trafficed zone that had such a significant change was Kithicor, and what they did there was just a Not So Good Idea.)

If something like this were to happen to Rivervale, I would actually like it
My main is a halfling cleric and I have always been very upset that I couldn't even buy gems there for my symbols!
I haven't really thought of Rivervale as "home" in a long, long time. Probably because I have just used sneak to to any buying/selling, so I can shop in any good city.
If something did happen to RV, I think it would be a great roleplaying opportunity, also. I'd like to lead a big group of people and try to retake RV if it was overrun by gobbies or something
