I mean, since we've all coded MMO games, we'd know this right? You people pointing fingers and calling folks names have no clue how much work went into the changes, so why act like you do. I wouldn't call the developers lazy or talk about how easy it is unless I had done something similar myself.

Unless you were agreeing with me, I believe you misunderstood me.

I was , in essence , saying the same thing.

I like the changes, and dont think it was the result of laziness.

I have to say that probably the best thing that has come out of this event is that people are actually roleplaying for the first time in nearly 3 1/2 years!

We aren't roleplaying - we're fruckin choked to the max!

Us trolls have been ignored, stepped on and wus slapped for shoots and giggles for the past 3 years by the powers that be - we're so mistreated and neglected that if we were children the government would take us away and slap Sony/VI with the worst child neglect/abuse case you've ever seen.

But we've taken it all in stride - we haven't complained all that much, we don't whine every other patch the way many other races and classes do every time they suffer the slightest nerf or set back.

But this is basically the last straw - as trolls, we had nothing but that mud puddle we called Grobb - a place that was so low, so hellish, so crappy that we could happily feel that it was definately ours since no one in thier right mind would want to take it away from us.

Sure, it was a cesspool and a hole in the swamp, but it was OUR cesspool and hole in the swamp.

And then it was taken away from us.

            /em snaps

I'm not roleplaying when I get high enough level to lead a force into Occupied Grobb and slaughter those Froglok NPCs. I'm not roleplaying when I pick off thier newby zone guards one by one. I'm not roleplaying when I refuse to group with, buff, sell to or help Froglok PCs.

I'm fighting back against the powers that be.

I'm letting them know that I am good and hosed at this so-called dynamic content.

This feels for all the world like a repeat of the Fleeting quiver - you want your fleeting quiver? I'll give you a fleeting quiver!!!! You want dynamic content? I'll give you dynamic content!!!! It's like having your parents beat you with the baseball bat you've begged for Christmas for the past five years when they finally give it to you.

OMG Kirstin pulled the EULA on us...

You know noone reads that.. we just hit accept as fast as we can so we can play our game!

              Player: You can't do that!
CS: Yes sir, it's in the EULA.
Player: I never agreed to this!
CS: Sir you did read the EULA right?
              Player: Sure I did!
CS: Sir, what did it say?
              Player: I Accept?
              CS: *groan*

Yeah - that's kinda low - almost as bad as bringing up the PnP during a camp jumping dispute.

I find the in game "role-playing" laughable - Human Paladins of Mithaniel Marr, fresh back from guild raids against their god, jumping into the fray to help their Troll Buddies get back their city.

There is no roleplaying in EQ.

                    Mith Marr raids

Actually, a paladin of Mith Marr trying to defeat Mith Marr in Halls of Honor is within role playing bounds. If you look into the story line of PoP you will see that Mith Marr challenges people to defeat him and thereby win the information that he holds.

Sorry for the interruption, we now return you to your whining.

Good and Evil are relative concepts that some civilized Norrathians have learned to look beyond. Seems that some feel a need to label those that differ in belief as "good" or "evil"; "light" or "dark". One of the most noble members of my Guild is a Tier Dal Knight of Hate. Though I be a High Priest of Truth, I have no qualms whatsoever at having my Guildmate on a hunt with me. I trust my life to him before I would turn my back on some so-called "good" politicos with a little too much ambition and too little humanity.

It's all a matter of perspective...a matter of what you find to be true.

I think the the purpose of the new "troll zones" is to give the Frogluks a place to hunt. So not only do they kick the trolls out of their starting city, but they make them a target for the new ursurpers. Lovely. Just Lovely.

If I'm following the storyline right, the old "Grobb" trolls wouldn't like the Yekesha trolls much and visa-versa so I should be KOS in the new Broken Skull areas. Someone please correct me and tell me I'm wrong here. It appears that you might be able to start a new troll character (if you have LoY) in the Broken Skull zones.

Given that that is true, it looks like Neriak is now the permanent home for the Grobb Trolls. Which sucks... a lot.

I guess you missed the part where they mentioned The Temple of FEAR and HATE in the new zones.

Implying that both Thule and Innoruuk trolls will be welcome, which is the main difference between the old and new trolls.

No, a pally of Mith Marr hooking up with the trolls to expell the frogs would be perfectly acceptable.

After all, think about it - the frog attack on Grobb was a cowardly sneak attack executed against unarmed and unprotected civilians while the majority of the troll warriors were out trying to recover thier holy relic. There's no honor nor glory in that.

As a champion of Cazik Thule, while I've got nothing against putting women and children to torch, sword or whatever happens to entertain me at the moment, I do have something against sneaking in like some lousy thief and attacking when there's no worthy opponents around.

Because of this, I would ally myself with those who had fallen victim to this to purge the cowards who had done such a thing in CT's name in order to reclaim my honor and that of my god.
