I don't dislike them all by any means. For example, Maevenniia is fantastic and I feel has always contributed positively to the board and I think that especially since Ngreth started working at SOE he has provided both perspective and information that was never available before.

There are others however that seem to only complain about something every time they post. While that's certainly their right to do so, it's both boring and frustrating at the same time. Life is such an amazing gift and a privilege. To spend extended periods of it being miserable, or even giving the appearance of being miserable, just seems like such a horrible mistake to me. Live every day to it's fullest, and no matter how bad off you think you have it, try to remember that there are literally billions of people in the world that have it much, much worse. I see homeless people daily. I also see junkies, and I see people that sell their bodies to survive. The worst things in my life are still better than the best things in most of those peoples lives, and that doesn't even touch on people living in third world countries, unable to even feed themselves. One of the reasons I don't like seeing other people thinking they are so hard done by is because I used to be like that, until about 8 years ago when I openned my eyes and realized I would go much further and be much happier in life if I took the energy I used to focus on the negative and instead focused on the positive.

Anywho, enough of my little tangent there =) You say it quite succinctly, if I don't like them go away... so I shall do so. I suppose it's not really my job to try and inspire others to look at the positives in their lives, rather than being so negative. I did look for a way to delete my account, but it appears I've got a bit of the "man unable to find the mayo in the fridge" syndrome and don't see a way to do so. If someone would be so kind as to either tell me how to do so, or if a mod would be so kind as to delete my account for me, you shall hear nary another peep from me. (I'd like to delete so that my email address is gone from the database)

We are having a civilized discussion here, no need to tell anyone to go away.

Drukin, you are most welcome to stay, just remember that mods are people too, and when posting in non-mod capacity, can be just as opinionated as the rest of the community.

I am no different. I am VERY opinionated. I just try to behave myself here. You should check out EQLive forums though, I admit I have been getting a little hot under the collar in teh Cultural thread over there...hehehe

And don't get me started on the State of the EQ Wizard and Prathun's penchant for nerfing us into oblivion...

EQLive? I had to give up on reading those long ago. To large a "whine to brain" ratio from the posters there. It results in too little wheat from all the chaff on those boards. I know I can see and respond to the SOE Devs speaking with their "SOE Dev" hats on, but I made the choice to minimize my time on that board and maximize my game time by reading the tradeskill items I am interested in here on this board.

Drukin, I certainly can appreciate your point of view. EQ is a wide and expansive game and should be enjoyed the way you wish it to be enjoyed. It is after all your money.

But that's EQ. Your money gets you your right to play EQ the way you want.

These boards have nothing to do with your money beyond your payment for internet access. Just as you are free to enjoy EQ the way you wish, the people who pay (in whatever form: $$, time, effort, etc.) for this board have the right to do so as they wish here. If they want rules, fine. It's then up to each of us to decide if we wish to participate with the given rule set.

I also find it humorous that the language and method in which you post leaves, at least this reader, with the impression that you are telling me how I should live my life. The very thing that you despised in the first place.

Drukin, how much do you spend per month on accounts so that you can play alone? Wouldn't it make much more sense to play Oblivion or a similar single-player game if you're not at all interested in the community aspect of an MMORPG?
More direct to the point... I own an Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, as well as my primary system can run every computer game currently out there in terms of system requirements.

Between my accounts, it costs me the same if I bought 1 single console game per month. Given that console games are generally designed to last 10-40 hours for average gamers, I can rip through anywhere from 2-12 games within a single week's time frame. Case in point, between Mass Effect, Condemned, Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4, they lasted me a week and a half with the overwhelming majority of accomplishments completed.

EQ, however, provides an "endless" game for me. There's no way to beat it, and granted I will run out of content really fast (I am currently on pace to max out AA again by about May). I've already completed both the mask aug and eron's jewelry, etc. However, there's always something to do in EQ... console games, not so much.

Even if I played EQ by myself with a six boxd group it would still be insanely cheaper to play than if I tried to busy myself with console games.
