I rarely do combines for others outside of my guild. I've had a couple of bad experiences with failures and peoples reactions to them....so, I normally don't do combines for anyone unless I know them.

Late last year I did a combine for someone who supplied everything needed, I just had to click a GM BP – which succeeded. He dropped 100k in the trade window when I gave him my success. Extremely generous and I thought that was the biggest donation I would ever see.

Last night I was contacted by someone for a sting of combines, for some reason I felt obligated to help them. It could have been the pleasant conversation and their friendliness, I'm not sure - but I knew I had to do it.

Today, I was handed 30 Metallic Drake Scales to make GM armor for all the slots except a BP, no augs. I failed the arms 3 times, but salvaged the sheet on 2 of the 3 failures. I succeeded on the Gloves, Legs, Boots, Helm, Wrists x2 on the first try. An Excellent run!

I returned the successes and scales to the customer, and for my time….I was given the remaining 18 Metallic Drake Scales and a couple of K to cover the vendor expenses of the bricks.

    I’m currently speechless.

I did a number of augment combines for someone in my guild. I was happy to do them, because a) he's a friend, and b) he's in the guild. He gave me 30K, which I promptly refused. He gave it again, I told him thanks, but I was happy to do it for him or anyone else in the guild. He kept insisting that I take the money; so I did, with a but of reluctance and much gratitude.

Typically, I don't do combines for anyone not in the guild, so I don't get many donations.

Largest cash donation: 40k for a succesfully cut Tourmaline back when OoW first came out.

Largest material donation: 45 nightmare arachnid silks (the equivalent of 49-68k on Cazic Server).

I've been handed extra crushed diamond dusts, yttrium ore, OoW augs, metallic drake scales, glossy drake hides, prestidigitasse (/mourn) on succesful combines/work.

My brother recieved 25k to MGB Fo7 over a year ago. The player was quitting EQ so he was getting rid of stuff. My brother was a lot happier and was able to get a rare shammy spell from that fat donation.

20k for Vials of {summoned}Mana. (cant remember if it was clarified or clear)

1K for casting KEI- I tried giving it back to the player thinking he put an extra zero on the donation but he refused to take it back.

My most outrageous donation was a 10 dose gate potion with 5 charges remaining for casting SoW.
My biggest donations have been for Making AAAA's, I have gotten 15-100k for doing anywhere from the just the last 6 tinkering combines to the whole thing.

                That was awesome!

I recall running all the way to RCoD once to help out a regular customer's group 'cause their chanter had thrown a fit and left them in a huff, refusing to buff them.

His group was in some far flung named camp and they CoH'd me to their location. I buffed them up and was ready to gate when their puller had an oopsie. I locked down the adds as best I could and waited to make sure they were squared away.

Payment? 4 OoW augs (when they were still quite the "in thing") and about 700 plats.

I was in Butcherblock running from the magus to the PoK book, when someone kept shouting they were paying 2kpp for dwarf meat. I waited awhile, then I hit the guy at the crossroads, the only thing he dropped was dwarf meat. So I sent a tell asking if he still needed it and said yes, so I told him where it was, and he dropped 2k on the trade window.

While not your typical donation, this one is kinda cool. My guild has 30some Last Bloods floating around in it. I have probably made boxes for 98% of them. My price to guild is basicly 25K + 8 bolts + some other odds and ends for the whole combine minus the raid drop.

Its kind of "different" to know that after a raid wipe 30some items you basicly created for an end game guild just got equipped. I haven't had that feeling since PoP when I was churning out EP items for the guild I was in at that time.

While not the largest, this is the most memorable donation I have received.

While doing smithing, I found I needed an imbuer for Plains Pebbles since I was doing some Human cultural combines. I rolled a Human Druid and decided to make a female since I had heard that guys like to give the females stuff when they were low levels. Sure enough, the level 4 Druid was sitting in Surefall Glade one day and a level 50ish Ranger came through and gave her about 3k worth of equipment.

Biggest donation people have ever tried handing me was in PoK when I was buffing on my chanter and cleric. I never accept any donations for buffs and my usual /ooc-line will be "Donations kindly rejected." Some people wanted to test it and tried handing me huge amounts of pp, some 10Kish, the highest one being over 200K roflmao.

Tradeskillwise I don't have any set donations for combines myself. Friends & guildies get everything at basic component costs & and all combines for free. With people I don't know I will usually just go with "no charge on a failure and donate whatever you consider fair on a succes." Although I'm really thinking about changing that.... You guys are getting lucky lol. I've created about 40 GM pieces on request and my average donation on succes has been less than 1K for those. Bout the same for black gold inlays and other high end trivials... 1-2K average per succes. Don't recall ever recieving more than 5K for any combine and I've always just handed the leftovers back to the person.

Can't say I take any donations for tradeskills, but I have given a decent one with good reason.

New guy in guild..very much into role playing.. Only thing he was an Ogre and to understand him was... umm impossible.. Myself and a another guildie gathered up 20k each and gave it to him with the promise to speak normally for the next 30 days..

Guild had a good laugh when they heard what we bribed him. At least this way the guild knew he wasn't as dumb as what he was making out. tee hee

10k for making 2 x muramite leather paddings.
5k for making 1 powdered glowrock.
                              10k for a mastodon cloak

all those are quite nice, but best present i ever got was from a freind that was quitting.
he gave me 75k,told me i had to use em all in casino! (took ages)
                              ... won a gold ticket.. !!!
he also gave me 2 fully evolved items, the 40% haste dagger, and a ring.
used the dagger untill i got myself a 40% haste aug, sold ring. (used pp in casino)

while working on evolving my jc trophy theres 1 guy in guild who always pays me 600pp for 2 cuts. trophy now at 13%,and its mostly thx to him. a rough guess is that 65% of the aug cuts i have done so far have been for him,so all together he donated quite a lot of pp to me )

this is a nice thread )
its good to hear, that though theres many ppl out there who dont donate anything (not even saying thank you?!),theres also some who do appriciate a tradeskiller. makes me smile..
