New UI, New Video Driver, New Crashes

I am running mine at 1600x1200 as well. I have a radeon 9600xt gfx and a 19" samsung flatscreen crt monitor. I didn't have to do anything, didn't get prompted to update drivers or anything. Just was on the options.

I've managed to make my custom UI work with the new default too now so it's all happiness here.

Sorry to say it but you hit the nail on the head. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

I'm using a Geforce 5200fx and I've used the same driver for over a year, not counting a few short and generally unpleasant attempts to try upgrades that didn't work out. EQ still works best with the 53.04 driver. IF EQ will let you in, tell them to bugger off on upgrades unless you actually have problems.

They added the update your drivers bit most likely becuase they got tired of getting my game won't run emails from people who have 3 year old drivers on dinosaur systems. I had a good laugh when on my laptop I was told to upgrade to latest nvida drivers. Which would be tough since detonators don't support mobile GPUs. So its a generic your system has an nvidia chip get this or your system has a ATI chip get this regardless of weather or not it will help you out.

Okies. It seems that the screen resolution is being imported into EQ. After a couple of adjustments, I was able to get one computer to show the resolution I wanted. However, the other is now claiming that the resolution I want (and was using until the driver update- which stopped my computer from crashing to desktop) is out of range. Sigh. More adjustment and probably a driver uninstall and crossed fingers are in my future.

Thank you very much for posting info on your systems. It helped me locate the inconsistencies on mine.

Check your Refresh Rate at the setting.

Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor -> Screen Refresh Rate.

Typically you want 75 Hertz.

P.S. If it's not on the "Monitor" page, check "Adapter -> List all Modes".
