At first it was weird but once I just took a minute to look at the map, it's not so bad. I added an AFK message to let people know which hall and room I'm in but no one seemed to need it last night. I did my normal business.

The Barter zone however I don't think people get what it's for yet. I had no trouble setting up a Buyer last night but this morning when I checked there was a whopping 7 people in the zone. I hope more people catch on to what it's there for or will really be a wasted space

I'm one of these people. I went into the barter hall yesterday for the first time, brought up the window....and was thorougly disappointed. I think I just don't understand it yet. I know that I can take any sellable item currently in my character inventory and put it up for sale asap. I also saw that I can search for something....but I have to know the exact name or part of the name..I can't search for what slot or what stat or whatever like I could in the bazaar. Am I missing something totally obvious? Why is this barter zone necessary, and furthermore, why is it better than just going to the bazaar? Any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated, as I don't want to miss out on something that's really great.

Jolum (the gnome) is in the tradeskill room. You know, that room that is far away from the banks? Almost considering pling a bard to be my mule just so I can get around the bazaar.

I was in the barter zone for about 60 seconds and realized that I would probably never use it. The new bazaar is too complex. It will scare away potential buyers if they can't even find you. I don't know why the made the bazaar so difficult to navigate when it was so easy before.

I just have to say I've been hearing things like this a lot and I'm not sure I agree. If a player wants to buy an item, they will find you. Players are not going to simply start farming everything instead of buying because the bazaar got a bit more complicated. Players are not going to walk away from that uber item they've been lusting after just because the zone layout has changed. Business will go on. Its not that bad really

I also don't think the complexity is an issue ... but I was on test server with the barter zone in for a while now. I am used to that layout now, although I didn't care for it much at the start. There were also no maps on test server, so I made my own. I learned the layout from that. Since Bazaar and Barter are the same concept, I don't find it confusing to navigate teh Bazaar.

Also, I don't think the layout detracts me from looking things up and buying from traders in the bazaar, nor selling to them in the Barter zone. I would have prefered it to have barter and bazaar all in one zone, and lag on test server wouldn't be an issue since 20 traders is about normal. I assume the extra wing of traders is for the most heavily populated servers.

But - I think they really should color code the /bazaar and /barter windows, or allow grouping of traders by wing, or filtering, so we can do all of the training in one area before moving to the other.

The worst is when my trader accidently left the bazaar...

Not bad, but it will take some getting used to.

I wish they would add a soulbinder to the bazaar ... since leaving the bazaar would get me in a bind-death loop in most likelyhood (I often seem to wind up bound slightly above the ground ... and with as much weight as my baz mule has, ANY drop would be deadly - and being lvl 2, he spawns at bind point fully weighed down).

The expanded layout was probably begun back when the bazaar was full and overfull all the time. On Xev, for a month or two now, there's rarely more than 200 vendors at a time. Sometimes barely 100. So with the hugeness of the new place it all feels abandoned. The layout isn't too bad once you get used to it, and the find system has led me through the portals and stuff without any problem. I do sympathize with those who have to run red/blue/red/blue to get their stuff, though. Once I run into that, it will probably drive me crazy.

                                And another thing...

I went into the Barter Zone tonight and saw the message "There are 4 Buyers waiting to buy your loot. Type /barter to search for them, or type /buyer to set up your own Buy Lines."

So, I typed /barter. I then clicked on every single item I was wearing or had in my inventory (i.e. the entire list of my items) and did a "Search".

In every case, it told me "There are 0 Buy Lines that match the Search String ('item')".

So then... who were those 4 Buyers and what were they interested in?
