There's a way to get rid of that screen I think...I believe there was a thread on the crucible about it not too long ago.

IMO, the last 45 days was just a big smoke screen. SOE and EQ are the same game as it was 3 months ago, just 3 months later.

Same cruddy CS, same "lalalala we dont hear you" atitude, same ship with rats jumping off the side. For once I wish this company would be accountable for its actions to its paying customers.

If anyone pre orders Omens, please let me be the first to say "you are an idiot to buy another untested product." the Beta period for Omes is the shortest testing period in the history of Everquest. GoD used to hold that title, and look at the pile of dung it turned out to be.

No need to call people names for pre-ordering. In some cases, guilds require that all expansions are bought, despite what the members of that guild want. (That's just one example.) Feel free to keep ranting about the expansion order screen, but please watch what you say about Sony itself or the people that do choose to get OOW.

That said, I also have no plans to get the expansion, personally. I also agree that too little was done ever since the summit to make me feel comfortable with this expansion or any future ones. Time will tell I suppose, but for now my monthly fee is the only money I feel like giving.

I didn't understand how frustrated I was until the day I cancelled.

No more hours-long teeth-grinding sessions for no tangible result. No hour-long searches for a group, and best of all... no more expansions full of content I'll never see.

To each their own. If you enjoy EQ, and you get something out of the expansions, then by all means, buy the next one.

If you don't like EQ, or you don't want the next expansion, then you're not required by law to get it.

Play EQ as it suits YOU. And not because someone else told you that it was a good or bad idea.

I think it's pretty clear you aren't in full control of your actions. Anyone with common sense would've given in to this several log ins ago. I'm just going to assume you're dyslexic and pre-order the expansion for you. Thanks!

It sort of reminds me of a little kid that says, "please, please, please, please, please..." until you give in.

I still was getting the pre-order screen for GoD the last time I logged in. It's extremely annoying and not exactly good marketing techniques. Anyone who wants to pre-order the expansion will and doesn't need a stupid screen popping up everytime to ask them.

Btw, I didn't say I won't be getting Omens. That remains to be seen. I want to find out more, namely whether or not I'll be able to actually use more than a handful of the zones before another five expansions go by. I'm still not convinced that PoP was worthwhile, since its primary effect for me was to pull my more raid-inclined friends into zones where I can't follow, and to repel my less raid-inclined friends out of the game entirely. I'm done subsidizing expansions for other people to play. And adding new zones that everyone rushes to because the exp is twice as good (and the AAs just happen to cost twice as much) won't cut it. I'll retire from exping and spend my days faction questing in the old world before I continue that tedious route. But if it does offer ME something truly unique that enhances the game, I'll certainly consider it.

All the preorder nagging does is make me that much more determined NOT to preorder unless I'm darn well certain I'm going to love an expansion. Kind of like how shouting car salespeople in tv ads tell me which dealerships I don't need to visit when car shopping.

Might work...

In your everquest directory, there is a file called eqlsPlayerData.ini.

In mine are a couple of entries that look like:

Might try changing that first zero to..oh...I dunno...a nine? That's what I did, and so far no preorder BS.

Worth a shot.

Remember when they swapped the positions of the SKIP and ORDER NOW buttons on GOD... just when people had gotten used to the screen and would press SKIP automatically. That was a rotten trick.

Now did i read somewhere they were going to add another spell slot in OOW? Its another case of such a must have thing that you are just about forced to buy the expansion. Remember the 8 to 16 bank slots with LOY.

Gonna be a long time till i venture into OOW, but that extra spell slot would be very usefull........

The rumor that I have heard is that you will have to do a quest to obtain the extra spell slot. I'm personally waiting to see what that quest is before I buy

I have noticed it only asks me the question the first time I log in for the day. If I camp and go to the desktop then relaunch later that day I don't get it...Which is a step in the right direction... just not a long enough step.
