Why exactly would the pet be buffless? I buffed some level 20 guy's pet just last night. I know I do random 'drive by buffing' quite a bit and I've seen others do it as well so that would even explain why somebody has fresh buffs on their way to trader mode.

Also, another way to work the chat windows is to take the good stuff out rather than the bad stuff. While I'm in trader, the only thing I really care about seeing when I get back to her is tells. So, the tells have been pulled to their own special window. Everything else just scrolls merrily along in the main window. Works for me since I'm only concerned about the tells. I'm not sure really what else would be important enough to have hours of it stockpiled, waiting for you to check trader?

NO you cannot prevent pets from entering the Bazaar. (As you have to WALK thru the bazaar on some trips.)
Wrong. There is NO ZONE in the game that you "have" to go through the bazaar to get to. Making people lose pets when the zone in to the bazaar is an excellent solution.

As a wizard, I don't actually have a pet. I do have a familiar, and it's been my habit to click it off before entering the bazaar out of courtesy. That probably won't catch on though.

The problem you run into when making pets poof is that people have a valid need for pets in the Bazaar Arena. Perhaps you could say that the bazaar is an exception, and that pets must be resummoned there, but that would have to be made VERY clear in a patch message or something.

Personally, I like the idea of making pets perma-invis (except to the pet's owner) when you go into the bazaar, and making them appear again when you enter the Arena area.

I still say a simple command similar to /hidecorpse will solve this. Sometimes it would be really nice to hide all of other people's critters and only see your own pet, or the group's pets. If implemented and a person going into the arena forgot to put /hidepet off then I'd say the return to bind point was deserved for failing to remember something that basic.

Just a teensy disagreement, there are some quests that send you to the bazaar, where having your pet might be handy once you leave.

But then again, prior to this patch, ALL pets poofed when you zoned anyway...

I think a block that won't let you go into trader mode if you have a pet would work nice. I haven't experienced any pet blocking traders yet, but could see how the people who "GROWGROWGROW" their pet to look cool could be hazardous to cute lil' short traders like mine. Then again fat, uncaring ogres that would log in and just sit on you were hazardous before the hide all traders thing too..

I don't agree with nuking pets, as I run to the bazaar to grab coffins, bone chips, essence emeralds. And I'm sure they'd find a way to mess up sending pets to a "holding stable", or making them invisble. But not letting people go into trader with pets I like!

I like the idea of hiding the pets the best. And the pet would end up buffless (unless suspended) simply because the buffs wear off. But I've talked to some traders in my own bazaar who a) never thought to make a trader mule, and b) are happy now that their pet stays up b/c the summoned items aren't always up for sale in the bazaar.

Or just expand the stables to include a pet pen for people who go into trader mode

As Narnar and some others said, I'd be happy to just make trader mode impossible with a pet up.

It was a beef of mine before pets could zone. I was tired of literally tripping over enormous warders in the aisles in front of their trader-mode masters.

Lagwise, tho, I haven't found a major difference in either the bazaar or PoK, which is kind of a pleasant surprise.

Just a piece of advice that I see guild wizards do (and use on my baby wizard). /pet get lost will get rid of flappy, but you'll keep the familiar "buff". So you get the benefits of flappy without the annoyance. Try that instead next time and it should save you having to resummon him.

It reminds people that for the cheap price of 5 AA points they get to suspend the pet, and for a measly 3 more they get to suspend them WITH BUFFS and the timers don't run out. Not level 62/64? Sorry but your pet would be buffless and you would certainly have regained sufficient mana to resummon, so it's just plain a non-issue. You -cannot- enter trader mode with a pet up. Just want to be trader mode for a few minutes? Oh, why didn't you SAY so... Hand your stuff to a mule (it's GOTTA be tradeable right?) log out and come back in under 30 minutes, as pets are No Rent now. Ta-dah! ("Gosh Itek, you are a -super-genius- to be so smarty." ... "No, Billy, I just can read the patch messages and what the dev's obviously intended.")
As a pet user (BST), my response would be to instead add an AA for 8 points that YOU can buy to not see or collide with my pet. :-P

If you are going to be calling for a pet ban in the bazaar, then I want all bards to be unable to sing in the bazaar, all spells/skills unusable in the bazaar, and a restriction of 1 public (/ooc, /shout, etc.) announcement per minute. Arena area excepting, of course.

Spells/skills as unusable is a bit harsh. I often buy research components haphazardly and do those combines by the SH side bank. Or if I stuck something in my shared bank, I may park right there with my mixing bowl or whatever and pop off a few combines. Also, no spells would mean no sow, no kei, no buffs...and if I'm doing combines, I may want that kei.

But...I said in posts of yore, old old yore, that I wouldn't mind a restriction on bardsong or some of the chatter channels.

It would be a shame to render such a useful tool such as Hide-All-Traders less so because of the pet zoning issue. Lag is a big enough issue so that enough people must have complained about it, else Hide All Traders wouldn't have been implemented.

Don't get me wrong, I think that pets zoning is a great idea but the lag isnt. Yet, I am on the side that the pet owners themselves shouldn't be penalized/made responsible. (Not that I think that traders really need to keep their pets up [Buffs? Probably gone before you get back. Mana for the pet? You'll get THAT back by the time you get to the zone you're hunting in. Components? You've had to deal with that for the last five years or so.]) But a hide-all-pets command would be useful outside of the bazaar too.

I have the utmost faith that there must be some way to implement a command like that. Eventually.
