So, I log in and, wonder of wonders, my usual gang isn't on (the ones that grab me for exp as soon as I log in).
I debate working on pottery. Not interested.
So I pop up LFG (LDoN only) and watch text go by for a few minutes. Nothing. I pop up the LFG window, and sure enough, there's one other shaman LFG, and the usual collection of DPS classes. I debate being motivated enough to form my own group. I'm not.
Well, I do have a handmade backpack full of meat from the last few weeks noodling in Dulak, Torigan and Nadox. I grab the 5k off my trader and zip over to the lighthouse. Enough for 3 stacks of wormwood. Click, click, click.
XXX tells you, "we really need you in PoV pls"
(yeah, I bet you do... too bad I'm allergic to gimp zones)
you tell XXX, "sorry, need points"
Last of the wormwood gone, essences dumped on trader. Still nothing (this is maybe the second time I've popped up LFG on my shaman and not had an advent in 15 minutes). Maybe I'll pop my SK on and go duo tactics.
YYY tells you, "you want to be healer for a EF LDoN?"
you tell YYY, "OMW"
Since I'm bound at the EF camp, it's a quick trip.
The guy who invited me is a BST, he's got a ranger, warrior and necro with him. A rogue comes over, and we get a collect 27. Someome slaps a TGB KEI on us and the melees get enchanter haste (yay! no haste!).
We head over and once everyone is there, the BST says, "ok, pet time," and zones in. We all ramble after him and we're off.
BST tells the group, "A skeletal apprentice is incoming"
He doesn't bother to mention the 2 adds he brought along. The warrior's a bit slow, but he's grabbing mobs eventually, the BST is slowing and pet offtanking, the necro will offtank sometimes, the rogue tanks a few, the ranger steps up and put some smacking down.
I'm just watching and throwing heals on everyone.
3 more incoming. 4 more incoming. Only 2 this time. Is that 5? Must be, I'm healing everyone. Maybe I'll AE slow. Yeah, I'll AE slow.
No med breaks, no waiting a minute for a single pull, no "OMG >>> %T <<< MEZZED DON'T TOUCH IT!!!!11!"
Hm, a collect 27, we've got 14 done, how long do we have? Oh, 73 minutes. I think we might pull off a victory here.
30 minutes later, 51 points tucked away for later, we decide to clear to the named. Eventually, we do. Except the ranger lost track of where the named was, then everyone wandered off and I saw health bars start flying down and ran back to see the warrior smacking the boss and 3 or 4 other mobs wandering around causing trouble. You know how they say it's not about the size of the mana pool, it's about mana regen? It's true. Except then. Q everyone, Q the warrior again by mistake. Look at his hit points at 5 percent while I'm hoping Tnarg's lands in time. It does. I slam out a few more Tnarg's and get him back to 50 and start slinging another round of Q and a tnarg's or two. I canni and things are under control. The boss is down, I get the warrior topped off, get everyone back over 70 health (except the necro, he can lifetap), and check my mana. 20 percent. Eek. The last mobs go down, and since we're done now, I gate out.
I spend the 3 AA for Innate Enlightenment since I grabbed another WIS aug which would take me over 280. We also had 3 resist augs and a CHA aug rot - evidently the aug drop rates have been raised again. The rogue dropped and the BST camped, so the 4 way split came to 180pp.
Along the way, I had a great time. The group kept moving without any arguing over who would pull, or who would tank, or who would heal or ... anything. The puller had mobs in camp at just about all times and people just did their thing. When there were multiples, someone grabbed aggro and tanked. And when they took damage, I healed them. And when stuff died, the looter looted it. And we moved up where the next cluster of mobs were getting beaten and slowed already. Sure it was trivial content (65 easy LDoN) - we couldn't be so slack on tough stuff, but **** was it fun. Move, target, kill, loot, move.
