My 2 cents.
To claim there exist an elitist attitude is to admit
1) that the claimant him/herself is lacking in some way, and
2) that it is ok to continue to exist ... lacking, and
3) that it is the said elitists responsiblity to accomodate those that are lacking.
To me, there are only two types of people, the knows and the don't-knows. If you are a don't-know, you should strive to become a know. How, you ask? By learning from trying, from reading, and from researching; not from asking for the answer and certain not from begging. The answer to almost every questions that you have had already been answered, posted, re-answered, re-posted multiple times. Before you ask a question, consider finding the answer yourself.
i.e. Strive to become one of the knows and not be content as a don't-know, and THEN whine about elitist attitude.
There is no elitist in tradeskills, only the knows who are tired of hand-holding the don't-knows.
