  • WOOOOT! Does this make me Ubah?

I've been spending a couple days in HoH groups, and only for a few hours per day, and I've gotten SCM2, and now 2 AA into SCM3. But that's not the ubah part.

I CAN FINALLY QUAD THE BASEMENT!!!

Takes about 25-30 minutes , from start to finish, to gather and kill. Must refresh snare after 11-12 , to be safe. And after that, repop is 20 minutes, so it's not the fastest exp in the world.

I tried quadding tonight, to see if I can. It worked. Has to med more than once, but it went fine!

    Me : http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=567713

    Ft1, 4k mana, 280 Buffed Wisdom.

Buffs: Spiritual Dominion, VoQ, Po9, Mask of the Hunter, and Soul Clasp (love the phylactery).

I'm so elated. Overjoyed. I feel happy. WOOT.

Wow. Yah, Lilosh, that impresses the hell out of me. Seriously. =D

Dude, stormreaper arms or something. Get some more WIS/mana/hp going on there. And maybe stormreaper or viscous ooze wrists - you don't need resists when quadding, but you do need wis and mana.

And finally, maybe if you get some WIS up in other slots, trade out the benevolence range for that ceramic boom4 item; make your quads go a little faster.

But super congrats on the SCM3!

The "Ceramic boom thingy" (Ceramic Incense Burner of Ro) sadly doesn't help quadding--just DD spells. But I agree that you don't need resists as much as mana when quadding. The foci that I rely on for quads include Range, Spell Haste, and Mana Preservation. Affliction Extension used to be nice for wizards when it worked on snares, but no longer

Quadding tables is hard to do solo. Even as a wizard with nearly 6500 mana buffed, it is a pain. And with 8 fully flagged elemental guilds and hundreds of miscellaneous flagged players (from open raids) it is nearly impossible to get the tables camp solo anyway. I much prefer a group. With 6 people it is 35% per quad, and we often have two quads going.

I've still never quadded in HoH, just single kites. The unsnareable mobs are such a pain, and the rooms always seem smaller than they are--throws me off. Congrats on being able to do that!

I've heard of a group of 5 wizards and a Bard (or maybe 1 less wiz and healer instead) Getting an aa every 14 minutes or so there at PoF tables.. Freaky ain't it?... But they ran out of mobs so its wasn't constant.

By Ceramic Boom 4, I assume you mean ID4?
I have ID4, on my belt.

(edit: I've corrected my magelo, which was outdated about the belt)

And impressing you made me blush. You're super uber.

Wait... I'm going to pull an Al Gore!

I want a re-count! Lilosh got to be uber before me!

Seriously though, at 65 (Enchanter), I have trouble soloing a single mob upstairs, out-side, near the graveyard in HoH. In fact, I have so much trouble that I have largely given up on ever doing it again. (One death, and one success were enough thank you.) I'm impressed too Lilosh. Take 5 points of HON.

And if I had two dead tekla, I'd give you one.

65 enchanter , should go to the trial rooms in HOH , they come nicely in Pairs for chaming.

pacify one mob. charm the other, have chamed one beat the **** out of the other. root and nuke your old pet.

rinse repeat. A snarer partner makes it alot easier.

rooms are rather lareg so it lets you run around if your charm breaks early.

I watched a frigging chanter clear out all three rooms of a basement faster than I could clear out one chant kiting as us bards do. Absurd.

I lived in the HoH for 2 solid months...no, I'm serious. My bf and I duo quadded 7-8 hours every weeknight and then 16-18 hours on weekends from late November to the end of January 2002-2003.

I never want to see that zone again.

Self buffed, we take the second room of the basement, I'd pull a quad and get it down to 75%-ish, then wizard bf would toss in his DDAoE's. We were always both OOM by the end of the quad.

I would then port down to Steamfont and manastone down/heal up. (This is when you could bind in any PoP zone). Bf would run into the 3rd room of whichever basement we were in and epic then manarobe (manarobe eating epic rune, reepic, robe again). When I was FM, gate back to HoH and start next quad in 3rd room (which would just be popping).

By the time I had the next quad down to 75%ish, bf would be FM and start nuking.

                          ***

Two solid months. I was CONSTANTLY moving, clicking, nuking, whatever, on my character.

                          ***

                          So, doing a quad a solo? I'm impressed. =)

                          ***

HoH was built for druid/chanter duo'ing. Especially that little crypty thing to the South (I think?). Druids can pull, harmo, keep both druidself and chanter 9'ed and soe'ed and healed, add the bit damage you need to the mob, keep the pet snared, etc. etc.

I loved to work that south crypt thingy with one of my enchanter buddies as we could clear the whole place and start pulling from the walkways outside before any of the mobs starting popping again inside...

You still need to ditch the bracelets and that arm piece for some better gear when you're quadding...

I can take out 5 Valorian Guards in under 10 minutes.

I charm one, haste it, sic it on another, root and slow the target, make sure I get a little damage in, then wait till it dies. Then repeat on the next target.

I got Extended Range IV, Mana Pres IV, and Spell Haste IV to help me out, but I don't think they are required.

It's fun for a while, but gets boring. It's nice to have that option though, while looking for groups.

I hear some enchanters can solo in the elemental planes, but I haven't gotten the nerve to try it yet. It took me long enough to try it in HoH.
