Guess they could make it so going into trader mode max shrinks you. Take care of the problem nicely.

Do agree with not being moved to an "open" spot. I've got my corner where I'm always at. My customers know I'm there. It's my spot and if anyone should be moved out of there, it should be whatever interloper is taking my spot

      LoL Ax!
      and "HEAR HERE!"

ah well... I lost my spot... was living there for well over 8 months when Merle wasn't there - but moving and having to pray 26.4 kbps is gonna hold you up is an exercise in futility...

(Point to point microwave is promised shortly after Wednesday tho.... ) Look out INTERLOPERS!!!
      I'm coming BACK!

I use the bazaar interface exclusively for shopping, find what I want at the lowest price, and right click to the trader. Matters not to me in the least where said trader is, and I don't bother to note who it is or where they were.

There is no such thing as a reserved spot, if you are not there, and someone else sets up, find an open spot.

There is a "solution" of-a-sorts to keep from being sat on. The smaller the race, the closer to the front edge of the platform they can stand and be in trader mode. The result is that someone larger trying to sit on you will either be behind you enough that you can still be seen or not able to be in trader mode.

I'd rather they just redesign the bazaar so it could take 1000 traders, with a level design like Arena, but the size of, say, West Karana (the biggest piece of useless in all of EQ...well, zonewise, anyhow )

I still say - fixed stalls in a second bazaar with soild walls between the trader areas to lower line of sight lag.

Build this and the old bazaar will be a thing of the past.

                Ideas that might be good:

                1. Make an area in each newbie city where 25-50 traders can set up. On PvP servers, this may not be feasible...

                2. Keep the bazaar limit of 500, but once 500 hundred traders has been reached, the newest trader (number 501) will bump the oldest out of trader mode...

                3. Eliminate the bazaar. return to the old days when people would actually have to dedicate themselves to moving an item, rather than make a trader on a second account, and ignore it while killing the market so they could move their skill up items faster than everybody else...

I was born on a PVP server. Frankly, ma'am, #1 is deadly. You learn FAST to not /afk yourself in a pk-able zone. And making Traders non-PKable solves nothing; suddenly, people would /trader themselves in order to NOT be pked.

On a blue server, I see the merit, except for a point raised by someone else a while ago... that when I want to go buy something, I don't want to go across the face of Norrath just to find it. The Bazaar is here to be One Stop Shopping. Yes, something needs to be done, but I do not think that multiple Bazaars of this fashion is it.

#2 is... I see the genesis, but... someone who sets up /trader could be bumped out of it within 15 min, on the larger servers.

#3: Someone pointed out to me that what Sony Taketh Away usually brings much Screaming and Gnashing of Teeth. Besides, Sony is making an extra $30 for Luclin plus $13/month for all those extra trader-only accounts. They're not going to remove the Bazaar any time soon.

Amazing that some people actually don't like the convenience of the bazaar and would actually PREFER that selling be hard and very time consuming, and even that it would require running through dozens of zones to keep current on what's really out there and what it costs -- and then worse of all, you arrive out on Podunk, Iowa to find out the vendor already sold his item, took it off the market, logged out because he got tired of waiting for you, or raised the price since he figured that once you took all the trouble to run there, you'd pay it.

To keep from getting blocked by big-race traders... I made my own bazaar mule an ogre... but I would NEVER block others with her. It happened to me a LOT, my main's little woodelf self, and it was almost always they were selling similar stuff as me. Haven't played much lately, moved out, separated from spouse, not had time to log on. Just today installed LDoN so maybe I'll have incentive to get back in and check it out....

I'm glad they upped the limit of traders in the bazaar finally. Was a pain to try to get a slot, on The Nameless at least.

                        Fight fire with fire -

My main is a troll - when I used him as a trader I never had any problems.

When it became feasable to use a mule with shared banks, my cute little WE mule lasted all of a week before I got sick of idiots sitting on her no matter where I placed her (I'm 90% sure it was folks trying to compete with me since the person sitting on me ALWAYS had atleast one competing set of items).

So now I've got a big, fat, ugly ogre babe as my mule and I don't have problems anymore.

I also never buy near the banks if I can help it. Just too much trouble. My FPS in the bazaar runs about 1 fps as it is, it actually can get slower at the banks.

The ablility to click a name and be pointed to that trader is great. I love it, and coupled with /target, it's about the only way I can shop in the bazaar these days.

If they'd put in a /shop command, that'd rule. I could navigate by clicking while facing the ground (so I got more than 1fps a second), /target my vendor, and then type /shop to bring up the merchant window *without* having to click all over hoping to land on them.

A /buy 1 /buy 2 /buy 10, etc. (referring to slots) with a YES or NO confirmation box/command would be neat, too, since in heavy lag I can barely move my cursor--but just a /shop command would make me way happy.
