SONY ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES NEW CLASS FOR UPCOMING PROPHECY OF RO EXPANSION!
SAN DIEGO, CA January 8, 2006: Sony Online Entertainment Inc. (SOE) recently gave an official announcement of a new expansion for its popular MMORPG, EVERQUEST. In a stunning development, it has been released that a new character class will be available for selection: the NINJA.
"Ninjas have long been a staple of fantasy and adventure," said Chris Sturr, Sr. Brand Manager, Sony Online Entertainment. "The programmers here at Sony haven't been able to stop thinking about the excitement this will bring. This new option for players promises to be the coolest addition yet to the online world of Norrath."
"And when we say cool, we really mean totally sweet."
Amid discussion of class balancing and grouping roles, it was revealed that a Ninja's purpose will be a sudden burst of DPS.
"We feel like the purpose of the Ninja will be to flip out when least expected. Group members might criticize Ninja characters for simply standing around and not giving a crap, but they're in for the shock of their lives when the Ninja springs into action with a careful and precise ferocity."
Some features of the Ninja class:
- This class will actually be available to all of the races of Norrath, with the exception of the reptilian Iksar. It is a well-known fact that Ninjas are, in fact, mammals.
- Flight! For the first time, true flight will be an obtainable skill. Common knowledge establishes that Ninjas could not only fly, but they spent a great deal of their time doing so.
- Ninja Yell. Monsters won't be able to handle the presence of a powerful Ninja. This skill will cause a massive decrease in monster fighting ability, and be accompanied by a loud sound effect that can only be described as a "guitar wail".
- Ninjas are always fighting, so players won't need to activate "auto-attack". A true Ninja is always ready for battle, and can be considered to be fighting all the time.
"Ninjas have always been a symbol of power," Sturr concluded. "They have been an ultimate expression of skill and power throughout history."
"Now in Norrath, that ultimate power is real."
