Epics predated the aa abilities that make archery viable.

At the time epics came out, archery was fairly useless as a form of real damage dealing... was only really good for pulling.

THAT'S why they didn't make epic bows.

Ahh, so i see, well with all the new damage, and bows are becoming better, they should make epic bows in the new either expansions or patches

"Epic" is a tough word to use... as it's usually been considered that the Epic 1.0's were referred to as the "Class specific particle effect weapons", back in the day...

When the Greenmist came out, it was considered by myself (as well as numerous others) to be the Iksar ShadowKnight "epic", mainly because of the race/class limitation and the time required to obtain it, even without a "particle effect"... until it was opened to other races who felt left out.

IMHO, putting in a rather long, involved, difficult quest for a fantastic bow wouldn't seem all that terrible... but be careful when demanding for "EPICS"... as your opinion of what should be one of the greatest achievements of a class can be VERY different than the next ranja... errr person.

Maybe what he is asking for is a bow that is uber for a ranger? A bow that is made useing the 'tradeskill' fletching?

Starting a bow that is ranger only. Say a crappy bow at lvl 50 fletching. 40 delay 5 dmg. Name: Rangers Poopy Bow. Now at lvl 100 fletch u add (with a combine) extra pully of poopiness to get the next lvl bow...35 delay 10 dmg Name: Rangers Uh Okay Bow. Then at lvl 150 heheehe....well take it all the way up tp lvl 300...Rangers Bow of Total Uberness...range 200 20 delay 40 damge.

Now that hurt my head. All the ranger talk of bows. But it can be said this bow talk is now tradeskill related an can stay.

But unless you want something much like the "Earring of Solstice"... one has to make sure that this 'tradeskill' quest is specifically designed for and restricted to Rangers.

Gathering amazing quest materials for a tradeskill item to make a more uber Trueshot Bow would be an interesting task... but what happens when an Enchanter is the first to complete this amazing task that seemed like an interesting quest, and winds up with a NO DROP ranger bow?

Bah, if the different types of Elemental bows don't tickle your fancy as a ranger... I doubt a quest version would be any better.
