Grammar God here too. Strangely enough, I swear I got nearly all of it wrong; mostly guessing at the answers. Surely there aren't enough questions to eliminate the statistical likelyhood of enough people simply guessing enough correct to look good?

Were/Was - I use these almost interchangeably in daily speech. Mostly using were as plural and was as singular (We were, I was), obviously not really proper but close enough that noone bothers to correct me.
So I'd say 'I wish I was King' or 'I wish we were Kings.'

I recall an example, which was a comment on the spacing of words on a sign for a pub called "The Pig and Whistle".

The spacing between "Pig" and "and" and "and" and "Whistle" is different.
