Why I like Tradeskills in Star Wars Galaxies more than Everquest
1. The first thing I made was a surveying tool that I have used over and over again. (Has anyone found a use for a scaler yet?)
2. I don't have to kill a single critter to get ore, metal, gases, liquids, etc. for my crafting. (Why can't I go dig the acrylia out of the ground myself, I'm sure I could do a better job then those darn Grimling Orefinders, they suck at mining!)
3. Every recipe I can create is stored on my data pad. (Ok, so now there are recipe books, sue me)
4. Everytime I make something and succeed, I get experience related to what I what craft I was using. (So how exactly does killing a giant spider help with my smithing?)
5. No matter how simple a clothing item may seem, someone else might find it to be just the right color and buy it to just look good. (Oh come on, I'll pay you to wear this ornate chainmail!)
6. NO FORGES! (NO FORGES!)
7. NO MORNING DEW, ESSENCE OF SHADOW, ESSENCE OF SUNLIGHT, OR OAK BARK! (You want HOW MUCH for that stuff you found on the ground?)
8. I can double click items to add to the appropriate recipe slot instead of dragging it and throwing the mouse across the room every time I miss the stupid little box. (Carpal Tunnel anyone?)
9. My crafted goods are better than what the mobs drop and will always be better. (So how well is that Mithril Chain moving anyway?)
10. And the best thing I like is that I can sell things while not even logged onto the game! (What, the bazaar crashed again while I was at work/asleep/shopping?)
I know that I have been away for awhile and now you all know why. After crafting in SWG, I don't know if I could go back to the skill-up grind of EQ. I hope everyone else is still doing well and reaching their goals of grand-mastery.
