I think the right femur is the one from the Tox skellies. However after 15 cap turn-ins I've not gotten one. I could be very unlucky but because I'm paranoid I think VIs removed it as a reward.

I'll do another run in Tox and see if I can get one.

the right one was from Tox... that ***should*** have been changed since they acknowledged the problem, said they would fix it, and definately did play with the quest some since it takes the horn instead of beads.

There are like 3 Fractured Femurs all with the same stats though.. chances are they tagged the wrong on........ again.

Finally finished with a Tox turn-in. The femur from the Paineel skeletons is the one that worked. It's also a tradable femur, whereas the Runnyeye femur is flagged as NODROP.

I can confirm that useless caps still drop, the skeleton still accepts them, and he gave me the correct femur on the 5th turn in as of Tuesday, March 8th.

Scouts spawned on both sides of the river, near Paineel and near Erudin entrances. I noticed that there were some erudite NPCs that killed the kobolds (and poofed the corpses) near the Erudin entrance, though. :-(

            Best of luck!

              From the EQlive boards:

Due to a mistake on my part, the fix was only live for a few days before it was reverted back to the old (incorrect) femur. My sincere apologies. We'll get this (re)patched ASAP. In the meantime, the Tox quest femur should work for Bill's quest.

I must be the most unlucky halfer in game. I have turned in 20 + of those useless caps. And they have turned out to be exactly that. Useless! I have yet to get a femur. My luck they will revert it back to the Runnyeye one by the time i actually get one from Tox. 8^(

Hrm, odd that the femurs don't work for you guys. I started this quest the first day I could, spending in total about 20 hours on just the ancestral book. I handed in ~20 useless cloth caps and got a lot of bone chips, but no femur- however, I still had the original, non-working femur I had looted in Runnyeye. Once I picked up my mino horn (and a new cat skull cap - I had deleted my old one =/) I handed them in and finally got my book. Of course I was stuck there because the quill vendor in RV sold the wrong quill. =)

This happened about a week, week and a half ago.

Well another 3 hours of farming caps, 8 turn ins. 3 zombie skins, 5 bone chips. I guess I wait for the patch to correct this 8^(

try to collect 3 or 6 caps and hand them in turn - i did single caps for a long time and never got a femur, then handed in 3 caps right after the other and got the femur on the 3rd try...of course then i ran to rivervale and they had fixed the quest, so i had to make a detour to runnyeye but i got the book finally...

Well, after spending a night in Tox, I've decided to wait until the quest is fixed again. Only got 2 useless caps, which yielded 2 bone chips. I slaughtered everything in site while looking for scouts. Ended up with stacks and stacks of spider and spiderling silk though.

Well after 20 + hours of farming, approx 30 - 40 turn ins ( conservative estimate ) I found myself back in Tox today. I vowed to wait for patch, but got lucky. I had collected 3 caps, on turn in number 2...BAM Fractured Femur. I hauled my little halfer feet as fast as I could to Rivervale, and walla, turn in worked.

Every halfer has his day, and good halfers have 2.

                            Good Luck guys!!

Can we get one more confirmation that the femur from Runnyeye now works?
