Geerlok FAQ update

Q: Does the final number get rounded up or down?
If there is a fractional remained after the modifier is added, it is rounded down. This means if your raw skill is 219, a geerlok (5%) would add 10 skill points (10.95 gets rounded down to 10) for an effective 229 skill.

Q: I equipped it, but my skills listing still shows my old skill. Am I bugged?
The skill level shown in your skills window reflects your unmodified skill level. When you open the tradeskill UI, it will show your modified skill level in the upper right corner.

Q: Where can I get one of these geerlok tools?
.... vendors in Katta Castellum and Shadow Haven. The newer tools...


Do a global search for 'geerloCk' and take the c out.

The link for tinkering recipies doesn't seem to work (i get a 'This page reached in an invalid manner' error message)

There's a couple references to Verant/VI which should probably be changed to Sony/SoE.

For the typos (like 'geerlock') I have fixed to 'geerlok'.

I changed the Verant and VI references to -Sony-

I modified the answer for the Tradeskill Trophy (removed link reference).

The Link for the tinkering recipes looks workable to me... could you be more specific about which is wrong?

As for the adjusted answers... I would like a second opinion these answers would be better answers.

For the modified location of "Katta Castellum and Shadow Haven"... I would like a confirmation that going to Katta Castellum is purely optional now. Or is there still something on one of the geerloks that can only be obtained in Katta Castellum?

Smithing Geerlok - has no unique part (vendor parts are sold all over the place)
Brewing Geerlok - Ceramic Lined Still also sold in SH

I'm not sure what tradeskill trophy link needed/was modified.

Regarding the bad link, the link I get is

and it sends me to a blank (white) page with just the text "This page reached in an invalid manner"

Also, the thread misidentified utility item that is sticked at the top of Database Update Submissions appears to have lived its full life and can probably be unstickyed.

OK, gave Shadow Haven an Advertisement for Geerloks...

The Trophy Link was something I had un-linked when we were getting the DB version of the site setup, I just never reworded it till now.

Looked at the link you refered to, re-created it... it works for me now, but now sure why it failed before.

Unsticked and moved your utility item thread to completed.

Doh.... I think I figured out what the discrepancy was about the geerlok recipe link. There seem to be two copies of this FAQ, one at http://www.eqtraders.com/articles/ar...r=030000000000 where the link works, and one at http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=23 where it doesn't (which also doesn't have any of the corrections you just did). I don't know if you want to maintain two copies or not, but that seems to be what was getting me confused about the link.

As a follow up, it looks like there have been modifications to the one on the message board that aren't on the main site. I just noticed the blurb about the vendor in the Gunthak lighthouse is mentioned in the message board one, and not on the other one. I didn't look through all of it to see if there are other differences, just that one stuck out at me.

Nother thing I noticed, the Greywood Fishing Pole on the faq (both of them) are listed at 2%, but in the database it's listed as 5%. Lucy lists it at 2% as well. The faq on the message board is also missing a space between grey and wood.

OK given the pointer to the page, I have fixed the issues in that thread I fixed on the article. And added the sentance about Gunthak to the article.

As for maintaining two versions... it isn't really our intention to do so, simply because of the confusion you experienced. Most like the thread version will be tossed... I will bring it up with Ngreth/Niami for verification.
